Who discovered the 2012 Mayan Calandar?
Sure we have the calendars and we have the history/archeology of the different Mayan periods, but what is the specific name(s) of the person(s) or organization(s) that first revealed to the public these findings and what dates were those findings first revealed?

This is important to know because the specific archeologists/publicists involved may have ties to TBTB. In other words, the whole 2012 Mayan end of the world scenario may be nothing more than a marketing scam that uses known astrological but neutral events to over-dramatize the year 2012.

1790: Workers doing repairs in Mexico City unearth a massive stone bearing ancient symbols. It turns out to be a representation of the Aztec calendar and will eventually become a national treasure.

The discovery of the names/dates of individuals/organizations who first revealed the 2012 enigma to the public is lost in the crowd. I am looking for specific individual names/dates of archeologists/publicists.

Re: Who discovered the 2012 Mayan Calandar?
The first known mention of the Mayan calendar was by Friar de Landa in Yucatan. During the early colonial period, the records of Chilam Balam, which were written in Mayan fashion and kept in all villages were translated into spanish text and some were seized by the church. Others are still in the possession of time keepers in villages today.

The man responsible for the 2012 correlation was Sylvanus J Morley. He was a spy for the banana companies, and there are lots of stories about him in the communities. He was scum, and a liar.

It's unbelievable that people on a conspiracy site just believe his correlation, but never bothered to check this dude out.

I guess people like the whole 2012 doom scenario, even if none of it is true or remotely Mayan, just the ravings of an ignorant and nasty man.

ya know it's kinda funny.

I have some old documentaries from the 70's
and then they are convinced the calendar ends 2011.

Why the discrepancies in date I don't know.

I'll try to dig them up if I can.

Thanks for your input.

See, until yesterday I was wondering about all that 2012 stuff when it occurred to me that TBTB simply "exploit" existing and prevailing enigmas to use in their endgame scenarios.

December 21, 2012 is a day no different than any other day but if you can get the masses to believe its the end of the world, you can work "out in the open" to deceive them and control them.

What if...all of history is revisionist and TPTB use this revisionist history to try to control the masses and the future?

In other words their only power over us in in our ignorance of the truth.

Re: Who discovered the 2012 Mayan Calandar?
Haha, good luck following that trail..

The Mayan calendar is not a calendar in the sense that we currently know one, as a measurement of time, but as a path/schedule (can't think of a proper English word atm) of planetary bodies and their relations to human consciousness.

It is a circle, literally..

How does a circle end?

It starts over. The WORLD does not end at the "end" of the Mayan calendar, the AGE does..

We are moving into a new AGE, those focused only on the destruction of the current one misunderstand

Most modern people, from my own experience, simply know - the word "Mayan" relates to some people who used to in Central America, and they have a calendar, and at the end, it says December 21, 2012 - End of the World

Most people are retarded, please don't get sucked in the trap.

This age ending and the next age beginning..

Which are you more concerned with?

The spanish killed off the mayan culture and "distroyed" most of their documentation. Archologiests discovered the "sun stone" (look up that term) decades before the end date. The "end of the mayan calendar" has been known about since before the sixties.

It is NOT a marketing sceme. It's a real event phenomenon.

The Sun Stone or Mayan Calendar is been well documented as an artifact. It's been photgraphed hundreds or thousands of times. It is on display. Here's a picture with people in it to show the size of the stone.

The "Mayan Calandar" is a cosmic cycle tracer. It uses cycles within cycles known in the observerable "heavens" (zodical) to trace out a bigger cosmic event.

Idealisticly the calendar would just repeat, but cycles in space are not fixed, and after great periods of resetting time events happen.

I believe it was Eric Thompson that came up with the 2012 date back in the 1930's.

Has anyone been able to remake the calculations which who-knows-who have done ir order to come to this date 2012 December 21 ? After all calendars are astromical data, and therefore anyone with the proper knowledge should be able to remake the calculations.

well the issue at hand is when does the thing start. Thompson and others say 3114 BC, and say that the Dresden Codex supports the date because all 77 solar eclipses (including many not visible in the Yucatan) in the 33 year run of the table from 755 AD occurred close to warning stations.

There are other start dates out there but they don't have that kind of record.
