Man we need a lab down there ready to accept thee samples!

Tube it, ship it & test it.

BP is just a damn corporation, like McDonalds or BMW. How on earth can they throw their weight around like this when there are lives on the line...

Actually, yeah, it probably is dead plankton.

Because the oil and dispersant is KILLING all the plankton and algae.

Means:
No oxygen production. Stifling, oxygen-depleted 'air'.
No food for those fish and invertebrates that do survive. Tons and tons of dead matter floating around the gulf-

to wash up on a shoreline near YOU!!!

The upside, sorta, is that after that cycle completes, living stuff will grow again, eventually, several/many years

Mutated algae, keep an eye out for other plant and animal life exhibiting signs of mutation.
The forces currently acting on the earth may be causing fast adaptation, and mutation across the entire spectrum of life.
Thought I saw a sparrow the other day that was partially red in color, blew it off as an effect of shadows and sunlight, but starting to think I was wrong.
Hopefully I am wrong, but keep it in the back of your mind and keep an eye out.

seriously...grey algae unkown and one-tar tarballs.

just another doom day..

funny how two years ago we would have never known this day was coming.

slow motion doom is weird that way..at least we have time to prepare and comprehend it.

Re: A GRAY ALGAE-LIKE SUBSTANCE AT MARCO ISLAND BEACH
could be some weird thing from the deep, or maybe some festering bacteria blob from all the dead sea animals.

Festering... one of those words that just rolls right off the tongue and brightens your day.

I would say stick a pin in it and pop it, but whoops - BP already did that.
