Re: Breaking: BP chairman handing off gulf operations
According to Sky News, BP's Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg has said BP CEO Tony Hayward has been relieved of command of day to day operations in the Gulf.
This comes just hours after Hayward had to stand trial before the U.S. House of Representatives for his firm's errors in the build up to the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster.

Svanberg said: "He is now handing over the operation to Bob Dudley."

Mr Dudley is the managing director of the oil giant.

Mr Svanberg also told Randall that comments by Mr Hayward have had detrimental effects as the company seeks to control the fallout from the disaster.

"It is clear Tony has made remarks that have upset people," Mr Svanberg said.

With someone else (read US gov't) in charge, the information flow should take a new turn, possibly open up the channels a little more of what's really going on down there.

Will be interesting to watch it unfold from here.

I suspect he's not being fired. Just being relieved of command of the GOM disaster.

No, there was an agreement to pass it off to Bob Dudley CNN just said. It's been on the table for weeks now with the deadline at day 60.

What about BP's Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, when will he step down for his comments about "the small people"?

THIS IS A BIG DEAL... and not for the vengeful reasons people are bringing up...

Once again, the GOV'T and OBAMA has taken over a private company's business....

They should legally require redress but have NO RIGHT to pull another GM/Chrysler stunt!
You shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall set you free.

Guys,

This is a set up to make "us" think something is being done about this.

This guy gets to be "relieved" of responsibility and they are spinning this as see we got rid of the guy you hate.

Inverted martyrdom......

WHO THE FUCK do they think they are kidding?

Now wait a minute ... Tony has nothing to hand over.

Per the Clean Water Act and Obama's own words,
Obama has been in charge since Day 1.

This may be so that he is "out of the country" when the Grand Jury returns the criminal indictments including for manslaughter, which are coming, ... so they can't just arrest him and make him do the "Perp Walk".

If he is back home in Britain he can fight extradition back to the US.

The only thing that happened is that BP gave $20 billion. And you are right, nothing, nothing, nothing has improved.
