Personally I find it totally amazing as a child of Duck and Cover and of the Cold War that the two insane states, the USSR and the USA didn't manage to start a full blown world wide nuclear war... the paranoia on both sides back then was extreme. But then perhaps they were not supposed to, perhaps TPTB merely used them to scare the human race shitless.



Also a child of Duck and Cover, like sitting in the school hall with my coat over my head was going to protect me from a nuclear bomb. I was only 6 and knew it was bs.

But damn the memory of it cracked me up.
