Is Kidney stones for men the equivalent of women given birth? | |
Melodye User ID: 1009808 Australia 06/20/2010 07:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i think it was worse because if child birth was anything close to what i felt we would become extinct as a race. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 988362I've often wondered why woman go back for more of that torture. I'm not! I'm never going through that again. The hormones that run through the body after child birth make women feel all happy and loving. Thats what they remember. Not the excruciating pain. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 14355841 United States 04/13/2012 09:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not all women get "drugged up". I gave birth to my 9lb 1oz son with no medication what so ever... Dont tell me there is ANY more painful experiance in life. The difference is that babies are worth it... with kidney stones... not really a reward after that. |

Quoting: GreenTabasco No drugs, at all. Every childbirth is different, but I strongly disagree with the kidney stone theory. 4 days of constant pain no breaks between, the pain meds did nothing to stop it.Ive yet to see a Birth that last that long non stop pain.so yea Kidney stones at least my exp.sucked.never want another. |

I was able to drive myself to the hospital while passing a sizable kidney stone. No way I could have driven myself to the hospital after my c-section. However, kidney stones are excruciating, and anyone who denies it is just being an asshole. If you have them and have insurance demand lithotripsy, otherwise they'll go up your pee hole and insert a stent until the stone passes, then go back in and remove it. Aaargh! |

Tell him the equivalent would be him trying to pass a bowel motion the size of a football.. and to feel the stretch and burn and probable tearing of the genital area. Then he can say he felt something the equivalent of giving birth naturally. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1002468Kidney stones are very, very painful, as are gall stones... but no where near the same type of pain. Agreed! Anonymous Coward User ID: 5240732 United States 04/13/2012 10:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've given birth vaginally twice, and have passed a kidney stone that was blocked in the ureter for a bit. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 836514 Yes, the kidney stone was incredibly painful. It triggered such a high pain reaction that I could not stop vomiting. They did a CT scan and said the kidney stone had blocked the ureter completely, thus the excruciating pain. Finally, it passed into the bladder, big relief but it took 3 hours. Then it was painful as hell when it passed out of the urethra too; another hour of misery. Still, 14 hours of hard labor was still worse! I had Pitocin to induce my first baby, and Pitocin to augment an extremely long labor with the second. I think that pit drug can make labor 100X worse than normal for sure. The drug makes the contractions very hard and come one after another with barely a break at all. I'd rather have another kidney stone than go through that kind of labor again for sure! ^^THIS^^ I think we need to differentiate between natural childbirth and pitocin-induced childbirth. I had ptiocin both times and there was NO break between contractions. The pain was beying intense and I could barely catch my breath (and did also vomit) I was in such agony. I endured for over 3 hours with my first before caving and getting the epidural, which I likely would have never needed without the pitocin. (i was young and didnt know better) Second time around i didn't have a choice as they needed to get my son out asap and wanted to avoid c-section (barely did) Anywho, I'm sure kidney stones are worse than uncomplicated, natural childbirth, but nothing can be worse than pitocin-induced and/or complicated childbirth. It's just such intense pain for soooo long! Oh and for whoever said ovarian cysts are worse than childbirth, what are you smoking? I've had severe cysts that ruptured and landed me in the ER and yes, the stabbing pain was unpleasant, but I could position myself in such a way that it was bearable. Can't usually do that in labor!! |

Sweating, vomiting writhing on the floor in sheer agony. Yeah, I believe its male equivalent, in pain any way. The first I rode out without any help, the second one I got someone to take me to the ER. I’ll never forget the fuzzy warmth of the morphine shot that night. |

It is the pain caused by the stone blocking the Ureta(sp?) with the pressure of Urine building up behind it . The pain is like someone trying to push a crowbar through your side with a tractor . Unbelievable pain that fades away for a few minutes and comes back as a spasm from Hell ! |

Alex User ID: 26900109 United States 11/03/2012 02:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've often thought that if men had to give birth-including the nine months of gestation, there would be one heckuva lot less people in the world. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1008367 Christie Alley once said (and I never forgot it!) that givig birth was like pushing a watermelon through a lemon sized passage. She's right ;) How dumb can you possibly be? Men take ALL pain better than women, I would rather give birth all the time than watch my wife go through it. People who have gone through birth and kidney stones SAY KIDNEY STONES ARE WORSE! What more proof do you need? How about this, I know strong men who've passed stones who can take pain way better than women I know who've given birth and the way they describe passing a kidney stone is more stressful and disturbing sounding than the way those women describe giving birth. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 26900109 United States 11/03/2012 02:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No way to really compare since all womens labor experience is different as I am sure all stones are different. Quoting: Lyttlmiss But since my last one was 9 lbs 10oz and 12 hours of labor I would love to see a guy pull that off. A guy could easily. Do you really think a man couldn't do that, if you could? Let's see you take a punch better than any man. You couldn't. Women need to stop deluding themselves into thinking they can take it better, how pathetic can you be? Just accept it. |

It's a south american herb, literally translated the name means "stone breaker". You can order it in pills, take as directed for a month or two and you will entirely eliminate your kidney stones with zero negative side-effects. One side-effects is improved liver function, as well as many other beneficial. I learned about this stuff from a friend who had 5, one half inch kidney stones. They wanted to do the standard procedure, and instead he used these. No pain, gone in a couple months. ********THE CURE FOR KIDNEY STONES AND HOW TO PREVENT THEM FOR EVER!********* |

Labor gives you breaks between the contractions at least... And you know roughly how long it can last... You can see progress, and there's a reward... Kidney stones it's CONSTANT.. With seemingly no end in sight... HOWEVER... NOTHING touches that RING OF FIRE PAIN during crowning... Stretching burning PAIN, nothing comes close... But as an experience as a whole, I'd rather birth a baby... UNLESS I was certain it would only last a few hours... Which usually they last 3-6 hours in my experience... But when you're in rolling around on the floor kidney stones pain.. ANYTHING seems like an improvement. LOL. |
