The two witnesses are from the bride , Christs side , their not jewish , has God ever used prophets twice ??? New prophets .
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1011760

We ought not to limit God as He can do anything.

The two witnesses will be of the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and they will be in Israel with the 144,000 of the 12 tribes of Israel. Moses was of the tribe of Levi, and I strongly suspect Elijah to be also.

Jam 5:17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.

Sounds familiar....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1043434

Elijah has had lots of experience in withholding the rain and of restoring it as well. He is a man of prayer.

It amazes me that Christian believe Moses and Elijah will return as the 2 witnesses (I agree, no others makes sense) but discredit reincarnation.

People who do not understand the spiritual will put it down to reincarnation which is merely the reasoning of man without God.

 Quoting: Scribe to Elijah 1052241

Again exaltation of the flesh! Please! God forgive them! God is revealing the fullness Of his mystery of Grace in the last days and it will be not of flesh or of dead works or will worship but by grace so that no man will boast before him.

Circumcision of the flesh avails not but what avails much is circumcision of the heart by the Holy Ghost.. The Two will be Christians in spirit and in truth because these are what God has wanted. They will be sons of the living God and greater than fleshly Israel and greater then Moses and Elijah for they will have received the promise. They will come from those that are not consider great in the earth so that God will receive more glory. This will be in fulfillment of Scripture.

26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him. 30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”1Cor1

This glorifies God and this is not what most people believe our want to believe because of pride and exaltation of the flesh. God has a knack of not fulfilling our expectations for reasons furthering his revelation of his truth and glory and love. People will be even more angry and disbelieving at God for using these people because the two does not witness of the flesh of men and will not glorify the flesh in anyway.. You can see how God used the lowly even among fleshly Israel. Ponder David. I know we think of him looking like Richard Gere but the way he was treated by has family they did not hold him in high esteemed. The fulfillment of the mystery of Grace in Christ can not be had in the exaltation of the flesh. Many will look for the right pedigree and will be fooled for they don't understand the mystery of the gospel of grace. I think Christ did not come as a movie star with greek god like looks or a pedigree but many thought he was a bastard and saw nothing good in him. (This is scripture) This is God exalting himself and his spirit and not appearances. Foe the exaltation of appearance is idolatry. Jewish flesh doesn't make one more holy but the transformation of the Holy spirit does. The more we yeild to God the more used of God are we. If we are circumcised of heart than we are spiritual Israel. The flesh profits nothing. God is looking for worshippers in spirit and in truth rather than the right pedigree of the flesh. Those days are over. Either come to Christ the messiah or miss out on the Abraham's blessings. Now having jewish flesh and the Spirt doesn't make you even more holy. Flesh profits nothing. Get you heart right and you will see God.

Many have claimed to be one of the two witnesses over the years. One will be Elijah and the other, Moses, which is according to Revelation 11:6.

This Elijah for whom I scribe his messages has been called to preach the Law of Moses according to Malachi 4:4-6, which he has been doing for many years throughout the world. He is also given to withhold the rain and to restore it, over the years in both Israel and Cyprus.

Moses is called to turn the water into blood which as yet no man has demonstrated, so if this man you have mentioned is called to do so, then we shall have our two witnesses.

Is Elijah Zerubbabel of Zechariah 4?
At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

"Do you hear what these children are saying?" they asked him. "Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read, "'From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise'?"

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.

The two witnesses aren't actual people.

Unfortunately, the stupid insist on interpreting the bible literally instead of metaphorically or philosophically (as it was written).

Re: The Two Witnesses are Definitely Moses and Elijah, No Others
Alright here's the deal on the two witnesses. In Zech.4:11, the angel tells Zechariah that the 2 olive trees and their branches represent the 2 witnesses who stand with God. In the New Testament when Christ is transfigured he appears with Elijah and Moses. Obviously Moses and Elijah have something to do with the 2 witnesses. When John the Baptist was asked by the Pharisees if he was Elijah he said no and he meant it, yet after his murder Jesus said "If you can understand it, John was Elijah who was to come". You might think that Jesus was saying that John was Elijah reincarnated, but Heb 9:27 says men live once, die and go to judgment. John knew he wasn't Elijah reincarnated, but Jesus' statement tells us that there is some connection. Now think about the tree symbolism in Zech. Branches on a tree are separate from eachother, but connected to eachother at the same time through the tree. Jesus was saying that John's spirit was from the same spiritual source, or "tree" as Elijah's. The other tree is the "Moses" tree. The 2 witnesses are the last branches to come into the world from each tree. They won't be Moses and Elijah, but their souls will come from the same "soul trees" as Moses and Elijah.

Very interesting...I like to use Elisha as an example while explaining it to people...

"And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him" - II Kings 2:14-15

I used to believe that Moses and Elijah would just appear, just as they did on the mount with Christ...But...Now I believe that it is the "Spirit" of Moses and Elijah, that will rest upon (and in) the two end time witnesses - Revelation 11:3-13

The Holy Spirit...- Luke 4:14-21, John 14:12-20, Acts 1:8, Acts 4:29-33, Zechariah 4:6

Who will anoint them with great power and authority (in Christ's name) for their mission...

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1077880

Technically (despite the title)...I believe that Elijah believes that the "Spirit of Elijah" rest upon him...And...He is looking for the man in whom the "Spirit of Moses" rest upon (and in)...To...

"Turn the nile river into blood"...

Let us all remember that...Even The Son Of God Himself didn't preach, or do any miracles whatsoever...Until (as I stated in an above reply)...The Holy Spirit came upon Him...And...Anointed Him...

"And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee"

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me" - Luke 4:17-

Christ was already "Full of The Holy Ghost" (Luke 4:1) before being tempted by the devil...But...It was after He passed the test...And...Was anointed (by The Holy Spirit with power)...Before He preached, or performed any miracles...

And if this same Christ said that "If we could receive it, John is Elijah that was to come" (Paraphrasing)...Then...Elijah also died (which brings up the false belief of reincarnation again)...

But...Having said all of that...It matters not who they are...As much as what their message is...

"And when they shall have finished their testimony" - Revelation 11:7

What "testimony?"

"The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy"...- Revelation 19:10

It is The Lord Jesus Christ that they have witnessed, and shall testify this to the world...(with the same anointing, from The Holy Spirit, that was given to Moses and Elijah)...- Revelation 11:3-13

For over 20 years, the schizo-carnal Christian who thinks God transformed him into Elijah has been trying to convince Christians of his delusion. Not being Born-Again per Ezekiel 36:26-27, many have believed him.

God Manifested Moses and Elijah to attend or conference with Jesus while HE was in the desert. God didn't transform one of The Apostles into Elijah, HE Sent the real persons to be With Jesus...

Faux-elijah has no witness and gives no indication of being Born-Again.

My witness is that God Will Again Manifest HIS Servants, the real Moses and Elijah to that street in Jerusalem. Right about the time that the man-of-sin comes to the fore-front of world attention. Have said so for 6 years here and on other Christian forums.

Scribe, Pasha, Jim Searcy and all the other faux-elijah supporters show their carnality routinely. God does not Abide With Sinners. The carnal-hearted are they who've not been Born-Again and Delivered from sin and all evil.

Jesus Witnesses in Matthew 24 that only the very elect cannot be deceived in the last days. Why? Because the very elect are Ezekiel 36:26-27 Born-Again and having given their lives Unto The Father, they Abide IN-HIM and satan cannot deceive God's People.

God's People do not fear-monger or preach hellfire and damnation. Alienation from HIM is sad enough, no need to beat the carnal-hearted up if they can't Trust God Fully.

You either will or you won't come to realize that only HE IS Worthy of all you are and all you ever hoped you could be... Only Through HIM and IN-HIM do you become all you wished and so much more. Yet, few are ever willing to Trust HIM with their lives...

Surrender is the only message of witness that matters.
faux-elijah would Know this if he'd ever done so...

Maranatha!!!
