Re: The Two Witnesses are Definitely Moses and Elijah, No Others
OP I have this so called Elijah! He came to my Church before y2k He said God said y2k was going to take place! He lied! He is a false prophet! He is a Godly man! I slept in the same room as he did one night and He was talking to God in His sleep! Yes He is a Godly man! No He is not the one of the two witnesses! There is more to the story of this man than what He and you display! I too have spent many many hours with him! But He is not the Elijah the Tishbite!

Now you have to understand Elijah is not in the place of God, but is a human being like the rest of us and is liable to mistakes, so that alone does not make him a false prophet. He assessed the situation of Y2K as best he could with all the information he had, so he put out the warning which of course he was obliged to do because of the uncertainty of the time, so he gave forth what he felt was needed at the time.
 Quoting: Scribe to Elijah 1008384

Here is how to detect a false prophet:

20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?

22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22)

So if a prophet says that God told him something will happen, but that thing does not happen, he is a false prophet. BEWARE.

YHVH's two witnesses are His Urim and Thummim [Lights and Truths]. They manifest for, in and through all true children of YHVH, who are anointed to the offices of His Five Fold Ministry. This is so, only YHVH gets the glory. And no man can boast in himself, such as Ernest Frank Mauck and his lying, strongly deluded scribe do !!!

Yes. John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah, Matthew 11:13,14, but the Pharisees at that time would have none of it.

The two witnesses are of the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob .

He will have both the spirit and the gifts as given to Moses.

It seems the Lord has gone beyond this, however, as taking Elijah for an example, he is very hairy indeed like the prophet of old, and also his forebears are from the area of Tishbe as was that same prophet.

You are entitled to your opinion, and perhaps you are right; however I personally believe that the two witnesses are the two guys who ride a tandem bicycle to work.

The symbolism is apparent: First, we have two wheels and two riders clearly expressing the duality of the physical and spiritual realms and the relationship between God and Man. Second, the fact they are riding to work symbolizes they are abandoning temporal pleasures in pursuit of doing the work of God. Third, by using a mode of transportation that requires great physical effort, the two have shown they are willing to sacrifice. Fourth, since the rider (Man) must sit directly behind the driver (God), the act symbolizes how mankind must follow the word of God in order to get to the desired destination (heaven). Fifth, by using the cheapest type of transportation available, a mode many would find to be embarrassing, they have demonstrated the necessary humility to be divine spokespersons.

There are many on GLP whom I would consider to be candidates for the important positions of God's final witnesses, but for the aforementioned reasons I strongly suggest the two witnesses are GLP's very own tandem bicycle riders (although for other reasons they could by Oprah Winfrey and Elvis Presley, or the Pope and Glenn Beck).

You know I'm serious, right?

Re: The Two Witnesses are Definitely Moses and Elijah, No Others
OK, it's time to get serious about this stuff!!!

According to s strict interpretation of the Bible, it is IMPOSSIBLE for either Moses or Elijah to be one of the two end-time witnesses.

The Bible says “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). The Bible thus makes it clear that a man can die only once, and will remain dead until the judgment. However, the Bible also says that the two witnesses would be killed and their dead bodies would lie in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 ½ days (Revelation 11:7-12). When the books of Hebrews and Revelation are taken together, it is clear that the two witnesses could not be those who died thousands of years ago since they cannot die again.

This would disqualify Moses since he died and was buried long ago. Additionally Elijah (Elias) would also be disqualified even though he was taken up to heaven alive in a whirlwind (2 Kings 2:11-12). Elijah did not die before being taken up to heaven, but he did die much later when he came back as John the Baptist and was beheaded! Jesus Himself says that John the Baptist was Elias (Elijah), and here are the relevant verses:

“Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come” (Matthew 11:11-14)

“And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist” (Matthew 17:9-13).

Neither Moses nor Elijah can be one of the end-time witnesses since both died before and cannot die again. Of all the Old Testament patriarchs, the only one who could possibly be one of the two end-time witnesses is Enoch since according to the Bible Enoch never died. Here are the relevant verses:

“And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” (Genesis 5:22-24).

“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Hebrews 11:5).

The only Biblical patriarch who could be one of the two witnesses is Enoch, since the rest, including Moses and Elijah, already died once and cannot die again. Of course, if you can toss any part of the Bible aside if it interferes with your desired interpretation, the entire Book is nothing but a compilation of incoherent and meaningless drivel.

Hey Cyprus,

Got a few questions for ya?

1. Where are both witnesses. Location, sex, age?
2. Was it not foretold that the one who sits in the tree and reads from the book would come back?
3. was it not also foretold that the witnesses would write agin and told to speak not after their period of yelling from the rooftops?

Thanks

nope..wrong again

two group of end-time believes

one group, in the spirit of Moses, takes the people out of Egypt..they obey the voice of the Great Shepherd and witness a truth to a person so important to that person at that time that the person knows he has heard from God. He is converted.

second, a group in the spirit of Elijah, that takes Egypt out of the people.. they have a prophetic understanding of scripture as opened up to them by the Holy Spirit..a sword that slashes bondage because the scripture is specific and powerful to the believer

In both cases rhema scripture is used by one in either group..a person with a spiritual and literal understanding of scripture. For he has been sealed with the mind of Christ and the power of God is working within him to seal others as he is led to witness to.

This is not two people despite what the hirelings in the fallen organized Christianity tell you.

Re: The Two Witnesses are Definitely Moses and Elijah, No Others
yes ive heard of this combination before, also heard of enoch and elijah, as they neither have died. but certainly, they have been translated by now. glorified bodies. what if its two we have yet to meet? i give pause, to the possibility that there are maybe 2 more prophets/witnesses. i am sure any of the prophets of old would jump at the chance to serve, but if that was the case why not just keep sending the same ones over and over again? why do it in the first place when i am sure there are many who would willingly serve?
Christians have had to face and realize their own sins, and feel compelled to try and help others as well.

This chant of Holier than thou is wrong and is taught by others making you think what is cool or acceptable to them.

The thought of "believe as i do" is strongly in an unbelievers life, because they feel they will be ridiculed by their friends.

Every falsehood a unbeliver weilds, is merely a reflection of the obstacles that unbeliever must face from his very own peers.

Unbelievers are the true followers, they are dedicated to fear of what other people think of them.

And because of this, they are ashamed of themselves, but wall themselves up to feel comfortable and safe, assuring themselves with rationality and laughter.

Which is insanity!

Moses and Elijah will not be coming back to earth. We've been through this before. The "two witnesses" is symbolic for the word of God which was banned and burned at the time of the French Revolution after the 1260 years of papal dark ages (see: Matthew Henry commentary).

That the two witnesses are literal men to come in the future is part of Jesuit futurism.

You'll have to think in spiritual terms as the spirit lives forever. Enoch was not chosen to turn the water into blood, only Moses.

Elijah and Moses have already returned once during the time of Jesus and all were revealed in their glorified spiritual bodies.

Also, Genesis chapter 18 reveals the appearance of these three men when Abraham ate with these 3. In this case, they appeared in physical bodies which enabled them to consume water, bread, and meat.
