I don't mean the actual temperature. It could be 20c/70f or 35c/100f, doesn't matter, the direct sunlight lately feels almost painfully uncomfortable at times. It really feels like there's a lot more radiation getting through or something.

Anyone else notice this? This year is really starting to freak me out so make incredibly noticeable events are going on and yet most people think nothing of them.

This is clear evidence of global warming. Yes the sun is hotter now than it has ever been because we keep pumping carbon into the atmosphere. Al Gore made a video about it to explain it.

A friend and I were commenting about it, too. Yep, it feels hotter. We are in Missouri.

same here! the sunlight feels hotter than ever. i do burn, but i ended up getting a NASTTTYYY 2nd degree sunburn just from being outside for about an hour. i mean, i had some vicious blisters all over my skin, very damaging.

I was noticing this too, i live in Utah. it has been pretty hot this summer but the last couple weeks the sun has been unbearable, i had to get off of the stairs because it was burning too bad thru my jeans. i was wondering if maybe the astroid that is supposed to hit us soon is maybe getting closer and we are starting to really feel the heat of it wtf

I can't agree more. Chicago, the difference of temp from shade to sun seems much greater. I've must have brought this up over a dozen times this year. Almost painfull.

Re: this is going to sound dumb, but does the sun feel hotter than usual?
yes it is hotter , it has been getting more intense over past 3 4 years its is not comfortable to be in like it was in the past ,it is like a freakin oven it scalds you in a short amount of time and the other comments are true about the visual appearence of the sun light it is more of an intense white light verses the old sun giving off a radiant golden glow, i dont know if you noticed but it permiates threw clothing instantly, you know the smell of your clothes if you take them out of the dryer after running them on high heat for a while well, i have noticed my shirts are giving off the same smell after being in the sun for a short while , i had some throw rugs out side laying on the ground bottom side up and i could smell the rubber backing burning , its intense to say the least !!

I first noticed this 8-9 years ago, the sunlight seemed hotter, my skin would burn more easily-- even with sunblock. Sunlight used to feel good, now I feel like I am being scalded. And yes, the actual light now seems different too- whiter, more pearly-- never golden anymore.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 131223

I experienced the same thing, I would never burn in the sun until about 9 years ago. That is also the expected influential range of the Suspected Dwarf Star, just food for thought. You must consider both the sun and this object have huge electromagnetic fields which can interact through gravity and many other things we do not yet understand, so do not think that this is impossible, but do not mistake this for fact.

Same here in Arkansas. I noticed even back in April. Sometimes it feels like your skin is cooking.

Where are you? Are you serious? Cloudy all the time?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 824189

I live in Oklahoma, but work part time in Alaska. In OK the sun is an actinic white hot blowtorch and the sky is no longer sky blue, but is a brilliant deep blue purple. Even though we had a nice cool front recently, trees are still dying and the ones still alive often have dead tops.

When I am in SW Alaska, I seldom get to see the sun in the summer because of constant clouds and rain, and see it all to often in the winter. Because of this, they did not have enough snow to cover the ground for the snowmachines for much of this past winter. When the sun does shine up there, it burns the skin even if it is quite cold outside - like when you are high up in the mountains, only it is near sea level. The weather is screwed up everywhere. I just hope the plants and animals have enough genetic diversity for some of them to survive this change.

Re: this is going to sound dumb, but does the sun feel hotter than usual?
I second everything the original poster said. I'm very used to being out in the sunlight, but this year it just seems not even bearable. The temperature is fine, it's only around 80 degrees which is nothing where I'm from, yet I can't even tolerate to be out in the sun. It just feels like it BURNS way more than it used to. I never used to feel like I have to get out of the sun, now I do.

got some freckles and burnt my lips yesterday.

In the direct sun it felt like 30 degrees C, in the shade it felt like the 14-18 C that it was all day.

Re: this is going to sound dumb, but does the sun feel hotter than usual?
This is not something new. I was born and raised in Alaska, and have traveled between Alaska and Idaho or Utah for many years. I have always been hotter in Alaska at any given temperature than any other place I've traveled. That phenomenon is something I've observed for decades. I'm 56, and I first noticed it when I was about 12.

I just watched a program on Michael Faraday, and it prompted some thoughts on this. The earths magnetic lines of force are thinner at the poles, as is the ozone layer. This is something that has not changed significantly in recorded history.

My speculation is that more ultra-violet rays make it through to the earth nearer the poles.

As far as anecdotal observation by individuals, It would be more logical that people change biologically as they age. Their susceptibility to heat increases with age.

Also, I have studied and taken the EPA exam so I am certified to handle refrigerants and service refrigeration systems. Long story short, The "science" put forth by our government reads more like a communist propaganda brochure than scientific research.

I have observed global climate change all my life in Alaska. Generations of Alaska natives long before me have observed the same phenomenon, so the notion that climate change has suddenly "increased" recently is patently false, and based on a few computer "models", many of which aren't even in agreeement with each other.

Definitely.
Even when the air temp has been in the low teens (and that's been pretty much the case this spring), the sun feels uncomfortably hot- and I find it doesn't take long to feel the burn after only minimal exposure.
More radiation is getting through- our' shield' is much thinner/ compressed, our magnetosphere is weak.

You're not imagining things.

(btw- I live near the Quetico/ Boundary Waters Region.)
