I bet he will get his tax exempt status revoked. You can not say partisan things like that in church unless you have a black choir and Bill Clinton has O.K'd your church. Tis the law.

Born-again christian here...

Watched the clip...then started reading other threads...then came back to the last page here.

What comes to my mind now is this:

Those of you here can laugh all you want about the "wacky, unchristlike preacher"...who is definately not turning the other cheek and is swearing a blue streak. Just goes to show you that we are all human for one thing. But the thing that strikes me the most is that he is warning you all about evil--and there is evil. When more crap (oh, did I use a vile word?) hits the fan and life as we know it starts to change for the worse--you will remember him being upset because you will be upset at what is happening around you and you will be desparate. Then you will remember those words and not be laughing anymore. It's going to get bad on this planet folks. You can all sit in the comfort of your own homes, laughing at the preacher and rolling your eyes but there is no question that a darkness has come over this land. It's going to be bad...you have no idea.

Fellow christians, you all know what is coming. At least this preacher has the guts to tell you. Most other pastors aren't doing their job in the age we live in. He's mad and he's upset. If you truly had a clue as to what Obama has in store for you...you would listen to the message and not shoot the messenger. If you had any true discernment, you would get that.

If there is any place the truth should be defended without compromise it is the pulpit of a church. If you can't handle the truth, "get the hell out".
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

This is why truly educated people think the religious are idiots.

And I'm NOT an Obama supporter, so don't even start with it.

I'm curious, what does it mean to be "truly educated"?
 Quoting: Dread Pirate Roberts

Well, it helps to have read more than the bible...and to be exposed to opinions that come from people other than Glen Beck and your own preacher, for a start.

It's a big world with a rich history...most fanatically religious people are only aware of a tiny sliver of it (whether Christian, Muslim, or other), yet they think that they understand the whole thing. The phrase "you don't know what you don't know" is a good one to use as a mantra (if you don't think such things come from "the devil").

I would have respect for religious people if they had a broader sense of the world...or even really understood their own religion as more than just a collection of mindless postures and empty slogans...but most don't. Most of the time, the hardcore religious are just parroting phrases without any real ethos or comprehensive knowledge of the basis for those phrases. When you come from a broader background that encompasses the study of world religions, history, anthropology, etc., the antics of religious zealots pretty much resemble the behavior of lower primates.

Your user name really doesn't fit you...

Being calm and rational and complying with the officer once he said he had 'probable cause' would have been much more intelligent. He would not have been tased, he would not have had 11 stitches put in his head, and he would not have had to spend a night in jail. He would also not be facing felony charges right now.

It has little to do with with him either having something, or not having something, in his car. It has everything to do with him not complying when he was placed under arrest.

We have courts and attorneys for a reason. It's much more sensible to be calm and compliant in front of the officer and making him get his just-desserts afterwards.

I understand, sorry, bad call... I only read half of your previous comment, then rushed into that reply. I have the utmost respect for Benjamin Franklin, guess it caught me off guard.

So...if a person has read all the classics, some in Spanish (Cervantes) or Latin (Caesar), knows several languages, has obtained an advanced degree, traveled widely to many countries studying art and culture, listened to speakers ranging in fame and subjects such as natural history, science, letters, journalism, art and others, has come from a broader background that encompasses the study of world religions, history, anthropology, etc., and STILL chose Jesus, what then does that do to your theory?

The above described person is me. And I was never "spoon fed" Christianity, I came to it in middle age. When then? I am "truly educated" by your own definition, and yet, strangely, I do not think Christians are idiots. As a matter of fact, Christianity has taught me that calling people who think differently from me "lower primates" is actually unclassy and uncalled for.

You are a perfect example of what I am talking about...an incredibly myopic and narrow vision of the world...yet you THINK you have a grasp of it.

I have studied metaphysics for around 40 years, and the concepts and ideas I have gleaned from those studies would be beyond your comprehension, but suffice it to say, the terms "God" and "judge" are terms that have a lot of nuance attached to them, and they are not terms that should be waved around the way a monkey waves around the thighbone of a wild boar.

"God" is a concept so far beyond the human ability to measure and define that it is an insult to such that people like yourself out words and a face to it.

People like you profane the mystery by making it a cheap bauble that you buy at your local WalMart.

You are so ignorant that you have no idea how ignorant you are. I, on the other hand, being merely a human, am also ignorant, but unlike you I know this to be the case and I can accept that I lack the tools to wholly define this world and all the other worlds beyond, below, and beside. Whereas YOU, and people LIKE you, think you have all the answers and that "God" bends to your untutored conceptualizations of "him".

You are in for a very big surprise.

this is the same pastor who got his ass beat by the border patrol awhile back

It doesn't matter what he thought the dog did, or did not, do. He should have complied once they told him they had probable cause to search his vehicle -- whether he thought they did, or did not. It would have been infinitely more intelligent for him to come back with an attorney in a court and do it the right way instead of being a Civil Rights wannabe.

Once he refused to leave his car, he had what was coming to him.

Isn't there an axiom kind of joke among preachers, that goes, 'the louder the volume, the weaker the stance?' I think this preacher defines it. Preaching is not yelling. The Gospel speaks for itself, you don't have to scream it.

More troublesome than one guy having a hard day at the podium, though, is the view that because one preacher is having a hard day at the podium then ALL of Christianity must be worthless. That is the subtext of the message of this tread. The false notion of the unsaved that Christians are perfect is just that, a false notion, We don't suddenly turn into cherubs when accepting Christ, nor do we turn into robots. We are human, just like everyone else. The difference is, we rely on the Holy Spirit more and more (hopefully!) to help us exhibit the fruits of His love as listed in Galatians 5:22-23

love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

LOL, I think the preacher is missing some of these, notably, self-control. One clue he may not be in the Spirit is that he referred to it as "MY church." Any preacher operating in submission to the Holy Spirit knows it is not their church.

If you have done all of the above as you claim, and you choose to accept the intellectual straightjacket of a FUNDAMENTALIST religion after such, then I would suggest that you may have a difficulty in accepting the profound sense of ambiguity that comes from having a deeper grasp of the universe, and you may have taken an easy way out that provides you with comfortable answers and a defined path through the spiritual wilderness. That may speak more to aspects of your emotional makeup then your mental one, but since I don't know you and never will, I am unable to engage in more than conjecture.

Just to clarify: I have know some VERY intelligent Christians, none of them are FUNDAMENTALISTS. There is a difference. If you are one of those people who feels that by accepting Christ as your personal savior you will be spared from the fire pits of hell, then I frankly find that no more developed a spiritual view than a cargo cult.

He may know his bible but he's still in kindergarten when it comes to his knowledge of the nature of government (referring to his run-in with the border goons)...

Regardless of what he believes, Amerika is a police state and operating under anarchy of law. You don't have any rights, least of all "constitutional rights."

He needs to go read an 1850's court case, Baron vs. Baltimore. It explains who has "constitutional" rights, and it AIN'T US.

He naively says he has 4th amendment right against search and seizure.

Sorry, but if he has a drivers license and a license plate on his car, then he has no rights. He entered into a commercial agreement with the state and had no knowledge of what any of the words in the contract meant.

That's why when he goes into court and claims constitutional rights, the judge says its a "frivolous arguement."

In a police state, when you come to a border checkpoint, the correct response is , "YES SIR", "NO SIR". You don't flaunt your ignorance of law by spouting constitutional bullshit. You comply with their demands and live to fight another day.

The cops are hired thugs for TPTB. You're not going to reason with them. They are trained to respond with brute force. They have no idea what you're talking about when you spout legal stuff.

Just answer their stupid questions and be on your way. Because you're living in a POLICE STATE, DUMMY!!! Act humble and contrite in the presence of these thugs. Yeah, I know, it hurts to do that. You'd rather show what a tough guy you are by spouting legal maxims you don't even understand. You'd rather get into an ego clash with goons who outmuscle and outgun you. You'd rather get beat to a pulp.

ahh, don't get me wound up on this now, I could go on forever

Re: Pastor: "Get the hell out of here if you don't like this kind of preaching!"
This is why truly educated people think the religious are idiots.

And I'm NOT an Obama supporter, so don't even start with it.

I'm curious, what does it mean to be "truly educated"?

Im sure you have evolved yourself into one awesome human. I mean it is all about "growth" isnt it?

You confuse yourself. Deep down you know that God will judge you. You dont like it. Thats all your comments are evidence of.

Listen ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you NOT the world.

So me and millions of others.. all the millions that read the Bible.. all of us are wrong and you, well you are right. Hey mister: "God is so far... ...no one can understand" You still did not respond to my exact statement.

YOU WILL BE JUDGED! All will kneel. Just cause you think you wont does NOT change that fact. You will confess to God. You will be held accountable.

Romans 14:11
"For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."

You hate God for that verse right there.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1016305

You really are a primitive thinker. Slogans and catchphrases and nothing more. A hollow and empty soul thirsting for easy answers to keep the fear away.

I don't hate "god", I hate ignorance and stupidity...and cultural boorishness, for that matter, all of which people like yourself display in spades.

That's it, it's all Obama's fault. Meanwhile, the people really running the show are laughing all the way to the bank.

I wonder what will happen when the next person comes along and has the same agenda. What then? When will people realize it's not just one person?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1013670

You are right, but you are wrong. The banks are corrupt. The Bigger Banks are even more corrupt. That does not take away from the fact that Obama's endorsement of killing unborn babies is an abomination in the eyes of God JHVH.

Obama is doing the bidding of Satan. In that regard, he is a satan himself. He needs to be removed from office. The sooner the better.

Soooo, you're saying that when our Constitutional rights are violated by some cop that we're supposed to just roll over and take it, right? That's the "intellegent" thing to do? Sounds more like cowardice to me.

You don't have constitutional rights. Amerika is a police state. And most Americans have entered into contractual agreements with the CORPORATION known as THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, via birth certificates, drivers licenses, social security applications, etc. etc..... THEREFORE THERE ARE NO RIGHTS INVOLVED. Sorry.

He may know his bible but he's still in kindergarten when it comes to his knowledge of the nature of government (referring to his run-in with the border goons)...

Regardless of what he believes, Amerika is a police state and operating under anarchy of law. You don't have any rights, least of all "constitutional rights."

.... I could go on forever

Please don't and spare us some of your senseless ramblings.

Most of us do have constitutional rights. I practice them every day. My neighbors do, too. We live in a democracy that has for the most part worked quite well over the centuries. It can be improved, but it is a heck of a lot better than most any other government on Earth. God bless America and God has blessed America.
