Yes Breezy, go camping in the rain. What fun.

Hey, never forget the plastic sheeting and duct tape...will keep you dry

rain fly, footprint + mini drainage ditch around tent if you are on ground....cheap platform can be made from shipping pallets topped with plywood. further rain diversion = pitched tarp strung between trees above tent.

Back to basics, eh? While we travel through a debris field from our asteroid comet, which may be raining down little balls of fire. Dry California - and especially the mountains - will be a high risk area in that event. My DH suggests the wide open spaces of Nevada for putting up that tent.

So - EMP (no electomagnetics) plus little fire balls would make for a very interesting scenario, given no fire engines or air remediation possible. Even cities would be at high risk, given our close quarters. Either one would create BIG problems - both together require some real thought as to appropriate strategies.

I have a question re EMP - if batteries are disconnected when the EMP hits, will cars still run afterwards when the batteries are reconnected? Do the batteries need to be shielded (Faraday cage)?

guess I better hurry and watch those two new movies I bought too???...LOL...old movies, cheap...but on DVD..and this system is like being in a theater...soo it's great to sit here and be entertained...

Isn't really going to do any good to get in too much of a snit...whatever is going to happen, IS going to happen...just think love in the meantime...enjoy the flowers and sunshine...be good to yourself and those you love...

and besides, thinking about them having to come on horse or bike to get money owed, is kinda funny...and I do know how to cook outdoors...and how to quilt...make clothes..so what the hay, put up a tent, wash clothes on a washboard in a creek...so there you go then...LOL

Just like a little holiday....

but 'different'

(Insert evil laugh)

Seriously, have you all got your bug out bags and escape plans ready just in case?

Good news ???
Or media-tactics ???
You decide for yourself ...

Baby fish show up in big numbers despite Gulf of Mexico oil spill (with video, photos)

[link to blog.al.com]

snip:

His group has sampled aquatic life in grass beds in Alabama, Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle. The group will sample around Louisiana’s Chandeleur Islands this fall.

At the height of the spill, when millions of gallons of oil were floating on the surface, scientists said that one of the critical questions for the health of the Gulf was whether the trillions of larvae hatched offshore each spring could survive the pollution.

The larvae are the young of most everything that swims in the Gulf, from crabs and shrimp to fishes great and small.

The tiny creatures drift on ocean currents for weeks before settling in various habitats — including seagrass meadows, oysters reefs and fields of floating sargassum far offshore — depending on the species.

...

Fodrie’s studies shed no light on the status of red snapper, vermilion snapper or mackerel, whose young don’t gravitate to seagrass beds when they are juveniles.

“We can only talk about the young fish that colonize the grass beds,” he said, “but those species look like they are in good shape.”

Fodrie said, “We’ve seen more speckled trout in Grand Bay than we’ve ever seen anywhere else along the coast. There are literally millions of speckled trout in the water. The ones we’ve cut open have been eating a ton of shrimp. The snapper have been eating little worms, crustaceans, shrimp and even really small fish.”

At the end of a week of sampling, Fodrie said that damage from the oil spill was hard to detect among the tiny creatures that call the Gulf’s seagrass habitat home.

“We’ll have to watch these fish as they grow for mechanical damage to their bodies from the oil. But from the perspective of the numbers of fish present in the grass beds, things look good,” Fodrie said. “We’re used to catching 30 lane snapper in some tows, and we’ve been doing that this year.”

Interesting. In Pravda.ru I spotted an article that starts out roughly as In 2013, the Sun will destroy all means of communication on Earth... So I went to [link to english.pravda.ru] so those who don't read/speak Russian could see it for themselves. Guess what? It's not there.
Anyway, if anyone does read Russian here is the link: [link to www.pravda.ru] (in Roman alphabet)

Hi Cousin! You're right, of course about the thinking part...heh heh heh.
Breezy, Hans and I were referring to wet climes, specifically. NW coastal regions where fog and more demonstrative precipitation prevail, even in the summer. I was situated in Northern California during the spring and summer last year and still had to have protection from rain/wind brought by storms coming in off the Pacific. The deserts of Nevada have their own issues, like heavily polluted aquifers, just to mention one.

Interresting again :
why try to minimalise Co2's when we can make FUEL out of them ???
It seems that everything is turning around or about fuel these days !!! (algae, gold, other rare elements, methane, etc ...)

They kept us in the loop, or out the loop (???) for almost 20 years !!!!

Reverse Combustion: Can CO2 Be Turned Back into Fuel? [Video]
Various efforts are underway to find a cheap, efficient and scalable way to recycle the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide back into the hydrocarbons that fuel civilization

In the 1990s a graduate student named Lin Chao at Princeton University decided to bubble carbon dioxide into an electrochemical cell. Using cathodes made from the element palladium and a catalyst known as pyridinium—a garden variety organic chemical that is a by-product of oil refining—he discovered that applying an electric current would assemble methanol from the CO2. He published his findings in 1994—and no one cared.

But by 2003, Chao's successor in the Princeton lab of chemist Andrew Bocarsly was deeply interested in finding a solution to the growing problem of the CO2 pollution causing global climate change. Graduate student Emily Barton picked up where he left off and, using an electrochemical cell that employs a semiconducting material used in photovoltaic solar cells for one of its electrodes, succeeded in tapping sunlight to transform CO2 into the basic fuel.

Hey guys,

I downloaded the sky debris (UFO) video and spotted something interesting.

The upper light towards the end of the video is 'spewing out' as if giving birth to other lights.

Watch and see.

Very strange vid.

No, most newer cars have "computer brains" you would have to take the brain out, also would have to make sure any fuel injectors were removed. Glow plugs also wont work, to many parts to take off in my opinion

Questionable, but I think would work is a stick shift that got pushed and than the clutch popped. An old car or truck from the early 80's that isnt computerized is the safest bet.

This is truly remarkable footage, i'm flumoxed as to what this could be.

I have a idea that some of the gamers are being played. As time went by, Op became more and more obtuse. One side or another got to him and convinced him to be much more clandestine. That has been a force leading GF AND OP, if they even exist in that relationship. That furthers their desires, whatever that may be.
