<19:32>[Ama]: do you have news?
19:32>[Templarrr]: hijackers usually only want attention to stroke their ego, his effort failed in his own and other threads, so he is now seeking attention there, you can add Just AC, Rken and their sidekicks"

Fine that's easy enough.

I'll just go away. Bye!

hey yanki mentat, dont run off just coz you got greif from the clique. youve been adding some good imput. there are elements on this thread that just want it to evolve one way (theirs) and seem to get a little huffy if any one has a diferent angle. "hijack the thread??? isnt green peace in the gom right on point????? more so , me thinks, than impending alian invasion, even though i know the reasoning that got speculation to it. all veiws are relevant, even ones you dont like. so come back and play mentat.

Interresting again :
why try to minimalise Co2's when we can make FUEL out of them ???
It seems that everything is turning around or about fuel these days !!! (algae, gold, other rare elements, methane, etc ...)

They kept us in the loop, or out the loop (???) for almost 20 years !!!!

Reverse Combustion: Can CO2 Be Turned Back into Fuel? [Video]
Various efforts are underway to find a cheap, efficient and scalable way to recycle the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide back into the hydrocarbons that fuel civilization

In the 1990s a graduate student named Lin Chao at Princeton University decided to bubble carbon dioxide into an electrochemical cell. Using cathodes made from the element palladium and a catalyst known as pyridinium—a garden variety organic chemical that is a by-product of oil refining—he discovered that applying an electric current would assemble methanol from the CO2. He published his findings in 1994—and no one cared.

But by 2003, Chao's successor in the Princeton lab of chemist Andrew Bocarsly was deeply interested in finding a solution to the growing problem of the CO2 pollution causing global climate change. Graduate student Emily Barton picked up where he left off and, using an electrochemical cell that employs a semiconducting material used in photovoltaic solar cells for one of its electrodes, succeeded in tapping sunlight to transform CO2 into the basic fuel.

...

Algae for biofuels love to eat co2 as a dietary source of nutrition. So turning co2 into fuel is not a problem

ONLY for the B I G Oil corporations - you remember - the guys with all the $$$$$$$$$$
 Quoting: TutuWuwu

The point I was trying to make was that co2 should not be a problem. We have ways of reducing it and give us an renewable energy source. Its just like the alchohol as a fuel source. Any one can make it but few take the time. Growing algae is not a problem and gets easier if you have a good source of CO2, such as coal fired electric plants.

Point well taken, rken, and I agree that we have the technology and process to solve the problem. Love it that the effort has been applied successfully at the academic level. It quite possibly might stall out there.
My point is that the political process of getting that solution online and cookin' is a real uphill battle against the richest global corporations on the planet, who will resort to anything to keep that from happening. Not the least of these anythings is the outright purchase of the Republican party, and many Democrats, on whom they can count to protect their interests, which does not include any smartypants solutions Chao and Friends might have the temerity to offer. SCOTUS' Citizens United ruling has made this purchasing process easier and more overt. Chao would get a better reception for his ideas in China. Just sayin'

Wow. The crazy ideas that I come up with.
It's off topic. but I may have figured a way to propel a submarine underwater at faster speeds, without propellers, cavitation, and very, very silent. Heck, it might even be power efficient. Anyone wanna hear this nutcase idea from a crazy loon?

exactly krispy, and the gom tarball reef shall power turbines on some levels using just such a technology.
also the co2 and particles for heat transmission to and from the reef by convectional means. what would be interesting to know is how much capacity in btu's can each node carry ? expected generating btu output exceeding far into the terra scale makes for one kick ass hot tub.
krispy in a bikini, hell yeah ! I'll bring the beers.

Be surprised what you can catch if you bait your hook with popcorn, especially if you soak it in licorice oil.

Weird. I think they still need to do some more research for it to be eatable food. But, it is only a matter of time.
