Royal Dutch Shell is beginning oil and natural gas production at its massive Perdido hub in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico....

I think this covers it pretty well
Edit to say I am sure it was mentioned previously in the thread. This was to have started in April I believe, also B P are a major player.

Trying to simplify some bit's and pieces ~ feel free to point out any errors...

Points:

"... very deep [frozen] hole, underwater, in the GOM..."

"... very 'old' stuff leaks [is warmed and comes out of hibernation] out..."

"Apparently the Russians have been deeper on land [and underwater in Lake Vostok, Antarctica and Lake B, Russia].."

Suggestions of priority to theories:...

This suggested 'mad scientist' would be attached to a group intent upon creating an 'algae oil' as has been suggested several times on this thread. There is support for that idea based upon stock activity over the past 12-18 months.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1142909

Some salient points there AC 1142909 ~ I won't dispute any.

I'm not sure if the communication quite hit the mark though...

I was trying to either have verified or shot down a possible link to why Russian sailors had their hands on an 'empirical calibrator to Em (translation problem)', as per one of OP's earlier statements.

Part of my reasoning was based on their experience at dealing with very deep drilling operations that get out of hand.

Another wee ~ un-verified ~ part of my thinking related to the 'Em' component in that communication. It seems probable imo the magnetic anomalies caused by the huge amounts of whatever it is floating around the GOM and making many people sick, may have disrupted submarine and surface vessels navigation equipment enough that they would require re-calibration to compensate for errors...?

You may be aware with the term 'de-gaussing' which can be performed on vessels? Perhaps this 'emp cal' unit did something like that ~ I don't know but if something starts screwing with your compass at sea, you can be royally screwed.

Of course surface vessels should still have their GPS/SatNav systems so it would apply to submerged submarines a lot more so.

Also, why did the US Navy move all those vessels to Costa Rica in early July?

Getting totally off-topic... if it is colloidal gold, it may help mop up a few nasty's...

fellowearthling, I think the Em in the communications referred to the French sub Emeraude - you know, the one the US Navy didn't sink.

And it's (the 'empirical calibrator') probably a lot more complex than de-gaussing if it's dealing with the magnetic radiation, as it's referred to.

Gyroscopes, compasses and other magnetically based nav equipment would obviously be the most susceptible.

Failure Shuts Down Squadron of Nuclear Missiles

October 27th, 2010
This is an extremely curious situation. I’m not even going to say which previous event this reminds me of.
Via: The Atlantic:
President Obama was briefed this morning on an engineering power failure at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming that took 50 nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), one-ninth of the U.S. missile stockpile, temporarily offline on Saturday.

How can you have a power failure at a sensitive military security site? No backup? Total emp failure?

If so, game's over! Checkmate. No need to clear the board.

Maybe let us know if your story was fiction too. Maybe you have decided to stage this game on another forum.

story developing......
no link yet, waiting for NRK to update their site
from tv news report

for the first time in history king crab, aka spider crab, (featured in the discovery series 'deadly catch' i think) is coming too close to the norwegian shallow shores upsetting the marine life and the marine biologists whom are perplexed by the phenomenon as king crab is only found in deep sea environments

something is driving the crab 'up hill', are they fleeing from:

augie terraforming?
corexit polluted waters?
calibrator noise?
atlaltis raising?
underwater volvano?
warming sea bed?
option e? (ask nex)

this is very worrying for all, the balance is upset

ps northern countries are preparing for a very cold winter, they all know the gulf loop has been killed, op300 anyone?

Hi Bezerkers,
A thread showed up on GLP yesterday from an Anonymous Coward poster from China. Talking about a 7 hour earthquake window that had been predicted with software. When quizzed he responded that the software had now been deleted for security reasons.

If I remember right he also started 2 other threads about other window dates.

I am having much difficulty finding the post. If some one could dig up the link to the thread it would be much appreciated.

50 Nuclear Missiles Drop Offline

"Everything worked as planned," says administration official.

The Atlantic (and now Wired) is reporting that an entire squadron of nuclear missiles unexpectedly dropped into a "launch facility down" status on Saturday morning, taking a sizable portion of America's nuclear deterrent offline:

President Obama was briefed this morning on a power failure at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming that took 50 nuclear ICBMs, one ninth of the U.S. missile stockpile, temporarily offline on Saturday.

Failure Shuts Down Squadron of Nuclear Missiles

Oct 26 2010, 4:36 PM ET 19
President Obama was briefed this morning on an engineering power failure at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming that took 50 nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), one-ninth of the U.S. missile stockpile, temporarily offline on Saturday.

The base is a main locus of the United States' strategic nuclear forces. The 90th Missile Wing, headquartered there, controls 150 Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic nuclear missiles. They're on full-time alert and are housed in a variety of bunkers across the base.
 Quoting: Gull

I'll say it - I believe there is good reason to believe this is another demo by the Chinese of their new-found capabilities. They know the west is actively planning war against them, and I believe they are sending these warning signals in order to deter this from happening.

Both the Astute incident and this incident have one factoid that is being written out of the reported stories - and that is that BOTH of these situations involved a total loss of power.

The only scrap I can glean from any of my sources is that it may involve some form of reverse EMP effect. There is certainly no indication of a localised EMP event in either locale as far as I can determine. Whatever they are using - it is chillingly effective.

There is now a noticeable increase in anti-Chinese sentiment emerging in adverts and in the current USA mid-term election campaigns. The new enemy is clearly China. The ball is rolling...

Australia has gone from gradually pulling out of Afghanistan, to committing even more troops over the next decade. Clearly this new direction is nothing more than the positioning of strategic resources and units in preparation for the war on China.

Watch closely to see if the anti-Chinese rhetoric increases in the mainstream. I do not believe the American people and her allies can be talked into a fresh war unless there is a major trigger event - one that will be manufactured so as to blame China. Obviously this trigger event will be so horrific in terms of its immediate damage and death toll, that the predicted emotional outrage will be steered into a declaration of war. I can only think of nukes under American and or European cities that would cause such a reaction.

Pray to whatever god you hold dear that things change behind the scenes and that it never comes to this.

And as to how the whole alien relationship fits in - god knows. I'm back to square one on this. I believe that there is a definite Chinese-alien connection, and that it has changed China's direction and outlook. Whether this change is towards war and conquest, or towards a peaceful global government (run their way), or whatever - I also do not know. As you can see, I believe China has derived or received very advanced technology from this relationship. I believe that it is this new 'edge' they have, that has given rise to their new found confidence.

peace

Why would they want us to mine the gold when it would be so much easier to get it from the asteroids?

Cool now I am special for being able to read what was posted. thank you. My comment to Hans was in relation to his posting what he considers personal data.

I guess you're feeling a little peeved at the dismissal of the Microbiologist comment. In my opinion there could well be something odd going on it that area and perhaps a list with "live" microbiologists was promoted to head off investigation of those that did pass in unusual circumstances. It would fit the mode of operation exhibited to date. The problem is I have no information on who they were or what areas they were actually expert in at the time. A pattern would no doubt emerge if this was put together. If that information could be identified it would help.
