It appears to be a real mystery 'sangwich.' The press will not be able to get in and if in fact something is going on, we will be the last to know unless another government or source steps in.

I have been silently reading along and am not ready to discount OP. Has it been mentioned that the US is struggling to retain it's power over this spill? It signed over it's rights in a situation like this to NATO.
