Gold is not the issue - it is a red herring. Misdirection. The issue is - worst case - grey goo. Please, people, get a grip and stick to the main dilemma. As the fat that binds cells to one another, thereby creating a functional organism, is dissolved - whether by Corexit or air or water-borne oil-eating microbes of whatever origin - human beings will die, along with other life forms. This is in addition to breathing the gases being released into the atmosphere.
