Just a reminder. The oil spill is moving with the loop current, which means it will make it out into the Atlantic. The World's oceans produce most of our atmospheric oxygen (marine organisms-photosynthesis) and oil is toxic to most of these organisms. The oceans are already acidifying, and marine life is declining globally because of good old fashioned pollution. My point- are we at the tipping point for a global die-off due to oxygen depletion? At current rates of synthesis, it would take 2000 years to replace what is in the atmosphere now. Think about it.
