screen 8 now at jtnog.org

4978 feet was seafloor ?

at 4643 feet plume/cloud

What are you thinking about? Its about 300 feet difference
 Quoting: Krispy71

mmm I'm thinking of the possibility that seafloor has risen?
the location is always 120/104 (at screen of rov)

and the plume (quite strong I noticed) is about 300 feet of the seafloor.

Born and reared in north GA.

Live in NJ. now.

What scared me is what I bold faced. A genetic cousin to current deseases. Who knows what horrors lay in wait for us in those muck domes.

It only takes one. And we will have no immunity defense.

Ah, filling in the vacuum left by all those New Jersey folks moving to South Carolina. They move down here and then demand street lights and paved roads. What's with that?

Where are we on the 72 hour Twilight timeline? Page 284, Op gave a twilight timeline of 72 hours. That was July 16 1:22pm.

Thread: Something Just Went BEZERK in the Gulf of Mexico. The US Navy just sunk a French Submarine (Page 284)

72 hours are 4 days ... It is now the 18th in Holland.
So maybe OP is only maybe to come back the 20st ....

These are 4 days of suspension and critical movements...
I think one wrong/unlucky slip or step and then we could have a real SITUATION ...

Time will tell ;)

Most of us on this thread are extremely interested in what you have to say, and wait for hours and hours to hear from you. So, please try to ignore the childish behavior of a very few. Your information is very important.

Many of you know about the "freshwater diving" off the coast of Mexico or Central America. I can't remember which countries, but you can go out in the ocean diving and scuba where you are in fresh water. These are "fountains" in the ocean.

Yes, it seems as though they are purposely turning transponder off and on, one can only wonder why
 Quoting: RenegadeSon

According to the following information, a ship's transponder must operate continuously, except when safety or security is an issue:

Should continual operation of AIS compromise the safety or security of the vessel or where a security incident is imminent, the AIS may be switched off. This action and the reason for taking it must be reported to the nearest U.S. Captain of the Port or Vessel Traffic Center and recorded in the ship's logbook. The AIS should return to continuous operation as soon as the source of danger has been mitigated.

Above information is from:
[link to www.navcen.uscg.gov]

So, it appears that either these rules/regulations are not being followed, or that safety/security is an issue.

That we are seeing ships' transponders being turned on and off rather indiscriminately sure gives us reason to wonder why.

Re: Something Just Went BEZERK in the Gulf of Mexico. The US Navy just sunk a French Submarine
the James bond film referred to in the article about underwater caverns off the US coast might be "Thunderball", that was filmed largely around the Bahamas and Florida and the story line was about a British nuclear missile being stolen from a Vulcan bomber and hidden in an underwater cavern. That was a film made in the 1960's when the UK'S nuclear deterrent was carried by RAF bombers, for the last 40 years the UK nuclear deterrent has been carried by Royal Navy submarines. Thunderball is apparently US Army slang for the mushroom cloud created by a nuclear explosion.
 Quoting: M 1016387

Should that have anything to do with the naming of "Thunder Horse?"

When A Whale was brought to the GOM, we had chat about its true purpose since skimming oil did not appear practical, in part because the Corexit was holding the major part of the spill underwater and unavailable for skimming.

Part of the discussion was whether A Whale was to be sunk. Whacha think?

I know this is off topic, but since we are waiting to see if OP comes back what the hell. Does anyone else monitor EQs from around the world? And if so, have you noticed in the last week the build up of 4 and 5 Mag EQ from everywhere? And this morning, we are starting up with two 6+ Mag. Just trying to see if there is a connection here at all.

A Whale was moving in a tight circle and then I checked back and it was off the map. There is no way it could have moved far enough that I could not have found it. Was there at 1:30 AM and gone at 4:00AM (GLP time) 2.5 hours at 12 Knots= 30 NM. It would have to still be somewhere in the gulf in that time frame, unless it submerged. :D

Hiya Hans, nope it didn't leave just turned off its beacon. Yesterday the same thing happened when another ship was heading for A Whales area, its transponder stopped transmitting, then later when it was pst Awhale it started to show again. Have a look at yesterdays posts...

I think there is a reason they are off the map so to speak!

The word "lurking" was not intended as sarcasm.
English is not my native language, and sometimes
I see you guys use words that sound cute .. like lurking.
In holland we say also "lurken" but it means sucking (on a straw to drink) and some other meanings.
For me it sounds like a little grey elephant that is lurking with his nose in a pond ... hahaha

So please excuse me if "lurking" is used as a sarcistic word in your language ... sorry
