Adjusting PR based on public attitude 3. Influencing public opinion 4. Controlling public reaction Certain registered posters have edited their posts for basic content, after (apparently based upon) posts from A/Cs or the general public. I cannot document this statement, because I don’t have the original posts before the edits. Just keep up and read and see. I base these comments, in part, on personal experience with local politics and opposing the “handlers” who stay behind the scenes. Our “local” ptb have learned that they must acknowledge and realize certain public opinion, then they work behind closed doors to make the adjustments they desire and to sway that public opinion. It’s a cat and mouse game which includes those who provide the cheese. Same thing appears to happen on this thread, with certain posts obstructed until edits have been made and opinions/facts revised. fwiw ... OK this post was made at 10:09 am! It could be important especially since I have had all the problems posting this reply!!! It was 2:12 hours prior to OP's last post. He marked the time important! Both of these are diesel submarines that can theoretically only operate for 30 days between refeuling. Also, for diesel submarines that have to come to periscope depth to utilize the snorkel so they can run their deisel engines to recharge their battery bank. Based of these limitations and the crush depth of these two types of submarines...I don't see how its possible that these particular class submarines have the capability to achieve this. Technically they can't even reach the depth of the BOP for that matter, or be able to hang around for very long because its almost impossible for submarines to just "hover" in one location...generally they spin circles or something to that effect. They can move really slow, but they are always moving, never stationary. |

The U.S. was number 1 until Russia was able to create equivilant noise cancelling capabilities that the U.S. had prior-to for many years. I would suspect that Russia, and U.S. have equivelant submarine capabilities at this time. Unless Israel had some super secret squirrel submarine that no one knew about, diesel subs have much more severe limitations than nuclear powered submarines. Nuclear powered subs can technically operate forever underwater until their rods are completely diminished. Diesel subs have to come up to the surface to run their diesel generators to recharge their batteries so they can operate underwater....they cannot run a diesel underwater because it doesn't create enough pressure to overcome sea-pressure and would sink the submarine so they have to come up to periscope depth to raise their snorkel mast to allow the diesel to run to charge their batteries. Diesel submarines run off of battery power underwater. They cannot stay underwater for prolonged periods. Also they are much smaller than nuclear submarines and therfore have less space for food so they can only last as long as they still have food on the boat...but they also need to be refeuled as well. There is no way one of these subs could have made it across the Atlantic and still be operating unless it was refeuled at some point...and will also need to be refueld again at some point. |
