Did you know that there were well over 100,000 Gazans in Jordan with limited rights - and no easy way to get out? An Arab researcher named Oroub El Abed has been documenting the plight of two little-known groups of Palestinian Arabs - the Gazans who live in Jordan and the PalArabs who live in Egypt. Here is an excerpt from an article she wrote in Forced Migration Review about the Gazans in Jordan:...

'Blocked' jetstream to blame for freak weather in Russia and Pakistan, say scientists

By Niall Firth
Last updated at 11:36 AM on 12th August 2010

A massive heatwave in Russia and the current devastating floods in Pakistan could be linked by the unusual behaviour of the jetstream, scientists believe.

The jetstream is the high-altitude wind that circles the globe from west to east and normally pushes a series of wet but mild Atlantic lows across Britain.

But meteorologists who study the phenomenon say that it is producing unusual holding patterns which keep weather systems in one place and produce freak conditions.

A case of suspicion of Siberian plague of skin form has been registered in Kara-Suu district, Osh oblast, Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health informs. According to the Ministry, epidemiologic investigation is being conducted at present. “Laboratory researches are being conducted for clarification of the diagnosis. In the process of the epidemiologic investigation, 7 contact persons have been identified without clinical implications of the disease. A complex of preventive and epidemiological activities is being conducted in the focus,” the statement reads.

Medvedev ordered his defense ministry "to use all necessary forces and capabilities to assist in fire suppression", the press service of the Kremlin said.

The reason for using the army is possibly the fact that more and more Russians are getting infested with Siberian plague (anthrax) which appeared in some Russian regions.

It is unclear yet if it is due to another leak of Russian bacteriological weapons. Involvement of the army may indirectly indicate that such a leak nevertheless occurred because of fires and hellish heatwave.

According to Russian media outlets, at least 5 peasants from the village of Bekeshevo, Tyukalinsk district of Omsk region, near Omsk, were hospitalized with a diagnosis of "Siberian ulcer" (AKA anthrax, or Siberian plague). Two of them are in critical condition and probably died already.

"The district veterinary service confirmed a diagnosis of anthrax with two peasants. The village was put under the quarantine, homestead round has been conducted. The specialists examined all the cattle and the villagers, but had found nobody else infected.

Therefore, it is possible that another leak of bacteriological weapons occurred from some secret military plant. Russia is known to have secret storage and improving of forbidden arms in violation of all international treaties, which is traditional for this country. Anthrax is the most common and widespread type of bacteriological weapons.

A large number of secret Russian factories producing chemical and biological weapons are located in Omsk and near it.

Cholera has killed 200 people in the west African nation of Cameroon, the government said Thursday, and aid agencies feared the outbreak could spread to neighboring regions and nations. Another 2,500 cases of cholera, a deadly water-borne disease, have been diagnosed in Cameroon since an outbreak warning in June. About 70 percent of people living in the country's far north region, bordering Nigeria and Chad, do not have access to potable water, according to a Ministry of Water and Energy official. Sanitation is also limited in the area and recent flooding has aggravated the situation. UNICEF said it has dispatched emergency medical kits containing surgical gloves, water treatment tablets, cholera medicine, oral rehydration salts and educational materials. The United Nations children's agency said the outbreak could be devastating for children, who are especially vulnerable. The disease is caused by contaminated water, and many people with cholera suffer acute watery diarrhea, which leads to severe dehydration. If left untreated, it can kill quickly, possibly within hours, according to the World Health Organization. Up to 120,000 people die each year from cholera.

"We've found some really bizarre things - things that we've never seen before," said Richard Hoover of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. Hoover and Dr. S.S. Abyzov of the Russian Academy of Sciences have been examining deep ice core samples from the Vostok Station about 1,000 km (620 miles) from the South Pole.
The ice harboring these finds is as old as 400,000 years, depending on the depth. Russian scientists at the St. Petersburg Mining Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia, developed the technology for drilling ice cores without contaminating the samples. Since 1974, they have worked at Vostok Station, extracting cores from ever greater depths.

There are some dust particles with unusual spectra," Hoover said. "Which may be cosmic dust particles." The ESEM allows the operator to designate a point on a specimen and then scan with X-rays to determine what elements are present. The ratios found in some of the dust particles do not match ratios expected in terrestrial dust grains.

"Mickey Mouse" and other colonies of small microbes appear to be out of the ordinary. These are fluffy white objects, about 1 micron wide and resembling cotton balls.

"Here's the shocker," said Hoover, pointing at the ESEM monitor, "these small coccoid bodies are covered with all this incredible fibrous structure." The filaments appear to be about 30 to 40 nanometers wide (that's about 1/10th a wavelength of visible light).

"It's difficult for me to say what it is," Abyzov said, "but I tend to agree that this is biological."
"There are all sorts of microorganisms in the ice. Some are readily recognizable as cyanobacteria, bacteria, fungi, spores, pollen grains, and diatoms, but some are not recognizable as anything we've ever seen before," Hoover said.

They have also found a number of large cyanobacteria with nanobacteria attached.

"What is clearly going on is that when microorganisms freeze, they shut down and go into this anabiotic state," Hoover explained. Anabiotic means alive but inactive, like suspended animation. Russian scientists have been able to revive and culture bacteria, yeast, fungi, and other microbes found in ice cores.

"One of the things that was really exciting was that many of the cyanobacteria from 1,243 meters down had lots of antimony," Hoover said. The X-ray spectrum showed carbon, oxygen, zinc, silicon, aluminum, and potassium - all chemicals common to life. But it also showed an abnormal amount of antimony, a toxic heavy metal.

"It was not just one of these that had it," Hoover said, "but microorganism after microorganism."

We know that the US government, and others, knew at the very latest in mid-February that all hell had busted loose in the Gulf. Have we been given indication of the timing of the order to retro-fit ships for "Polar Bear", "Polar Ice" or whatever? OP said that the fit date had been moved up.

Based on what we read from a variety of sources, including the high death count from freezing in the Southern Hemisphere during their current winter, we are looking as one cold-azz winter up North this year.

All Brits and Dutch should immediately start petitioning BP for discounts on heating fuel. BP, and other oil companies too, should forego profits this winter in favor of keeping people alive. Ryssia has enough oil/gas to keep its people from freezing.

This I believe is what this site is all about. The passing on of information, and while this seems like a small snippet it is of value in itself. While the main posters and sleuths are the core of this thread at the OPs instigation the core posters have givens us reams of information. I not being a computer buff can only read and remember as I cannot save all the posts.
For my part in my neck of the woods I can say of the oddities here as to the Gulf Stream, which I am trying to watch.
I have for years had a large fish pond which I would maintain weekly, and if not cleaned regularly it would turn a natural green. Having installed a new duck pond this year I notice over the last few weeks a sheen of oil on this pond after rainfall. There has also been a problem with the water turning reddish on occasion. So my thinking here is, are there oddities in your neck of the woods.
Further to note. Why are we allowed to see those screen shots at all? This camera work we see is what we are allowed to see, so what I wonder is the real picture? As I pointed out in the beginning of this thread. The white particles we see rising from the floor of the GOM are I believe a life form which we the viewers know little about. Yet why are we allowed to see this development at all?
A last observation. I believe we are nearing the end in this, what I could only call cycle. At some stage all things will end as will this thread as it seems to have run its course. This last statement is not a wish I might add, it is more like it appears as if time is speeding up so to say, and forces outside our control will soon envelope us all.
So as a conclusion I would ask you to look to your own observations of your own surroundings in your natural environs, and let us know if there are any slight oddities.

Regards.
