Given the US and "friendlies" exercises in the Yellow Sea in spite of China's objections to same, sending A Whale/Orca to Singapore (a relatively short distance away) could be seen by China as another act of provocation, particularly if China is aware (and we have no reason to think they are not) of the Omega organism and its danger. It doesn't take much dot-connecting from that point to understand China's move to destroy A Whale/Orca and its cargo. Again, just speculation, and just my opinion. Everybody in the embassy was suffering from some mysterious illness. So, the Russians have had a long time to develop this and refine it's functions. If this is the secret ingredient of the calibrators, I'm wondering why they worked on AUgie McMidas when he was hanging out in vertical columns, but doesn't work on the horizonal plane.
