LWD acquired data provided unprecedented information on the on the nature of the sediments and the occurrence of gas hydrate in the Gulf of Mexico. The expedition discovered gas hydrate in both sand and fracture dominated reservoirs. The discovery of thick gas-hydrate-bearing sands validates the pre-drilling integrated geological and geophysical approach used to identify the targets and provides increased confidence in assessing the energy resource potential of marine gas hydrates. The USGS also coordinated and lead the pre-drilling site selection review process. In the case of the Walker Ridge and Green Canyon drill sites gas-hydrate-bearing sand reservoirs between 50 and 100 ft thick were discovered. This drilling expedition has documented that highly saturated gas-hydrate deposits do not need to be linked to seismic identified bottom simulating reflectors (BSRs). Rather, the gas hydrate petroleum systems approach is a better strategy for finding highly-saturated gas hydrate accumulations. The discovery concentrated gas hydrates in sand reservoirs have made Walker Ridge and Green Canyon prime locations for future research drilling, coring, and production testing; making the Gulf of Mexico the first place that we can consider gas hydrate as a potential marine energy resource with attractive research and development targets. |

Based purely on recall, the chronological order will have the initial steps for the research early in the past ten years, the setup for JIP and the setup for SERPENT. Thunder Horse went in, with a lot of development problems, at about this time. News articles from last fall start announcing the research findings and exploration. Then we have the push for BP permits and the BP source acknowledged "rush" to drill the great depths. Haliburton (Dick Cheney, et al) operates in both ventures, SERPENT and JIP, and is the cross-over source in information from JIP to SERPENT. I find final research reports from JIP, but not from SERPENT. It appears that SERPENT will be the claimeed source of research and development for BP. We need to see the SERPENT reports and their activity logs. We know that BP refuses to release mud logs from drilling on the DWH rig because this can document their criminal activity. Someone could attempt to make up some logs for SERPENT, but that should be difficult. Every corp-o-rat and organization official involved with the oil spill and the drilling cracking the ocean floor have got to be charged with murder, prosecuted and punished for their capital crimes. I want all the assets of these people to be confiscated and used for remediation and benefit of those who are suffering. Families of the guilty should be left penniless and have to work for their living. If my schedule allows, perhaps in a few days, I'll post the documented date sequence for action in connection with research in the GOM and the exploratory drilling. |

(AP) — The Oregon Department of Public Health has found dangerous blue-green algae in two Oregon reservoirs and cautioned visitors against drinking the water or eating fish caught in the reservoirs. [link to www.kgw.com] Symptoms appears the same as Blue Plaque on the Gulf Coast. At the link: "The department says the toxins cannot be removed by boiling, filtering or treating the water. Signs of exposure include breathing or heart problems, rashes, nausea and cramps." They have had problems in the portland area for years. I lived there 12 years ago and lakes that appeared to be in pristine areas had warnings about eating the fish. One fish per week if you were a healthy person and 0 is you were pregnant. Not sure what the issue was. Never looked into it. That's the kind of warning you get when water is contaminated with VOCs. With this algae hazard, you don't want to touch the fish. |

A female scientist was explaining how the plume had in fact penetrated he silt layer on the sea floor a number of inches deep. it had killed all but bacterial life. This is nothing new to readers of this thread. but what she said next i found disturbing.she was asked that because her and her colleagues discovery of the oil plume had been attempted to be covered up, did she expect this latest information to be covered up too. "Absolutely" she replied. I was a bit stunned that this info on main stream media, isnt causing riots on the streets. what is your American govt doing about this. I know that fluoride in the water keeps people conciliatory ,but you guys need to give your govt a good kick up the bum. I should add that it was the govt and bp,in this report, that tried to suppress the inforation. |
