I've contacted the few I know and have had friends call and contact family/people that they know down in the Gulf area.

It appears that about 95% of the population think the Gulf situation is under control because that is what they've been told. Those who continue to warn about the health issues and demand transparency are considered to be the ones who don't have reliable information.

After the ABC report last week that the oil was still there, but underwater, a couple of people called acknowledging that it must be true. They wanted to know what else was going on that hadn't been told.


On marinetraffic - at the GOM- I just clicked on the vessels button, chose a random vessel, clicked on that. Takes you to a bunch of ships all nestled up behind Lake Pontchartrain...but none IN the GOM.


Don't you find that most of those are tugs in port, and not ocean-going ships? It's been like that since the end of August.


Can't confirm or deny history. I do see quite a few tankers and cargo vessels (ocean-going ships) anchored toward the right of the screen. Seems like the hurricane issue could be in play.

I have just checked again and three of the tankers appear to have vanished!!!!!! What the heck is going on. At the time of my post there were four RED squares!!! No doubt about it!!!!!!!!

It is nice to see the open exchanges on this thread. That said, come on -- 1+1=2
If it was only that site that we had as evidence, I would be suspect like you and the other poster flying Netherlands colors with the nice behind he showed me.


But you know as well as I do that hurricanes only form in the GOM and the Atlantic (or cyclones in other regions) due to one main factor or ingredient in most all cases - warm water...

So that link first given to that site had a date other than current, so was giving false, cooler temp info. When the date is adjusted to this month, it yes, looks like it should. It is that simple. (site + lot's of hurricanes or tropical storms)1+1=2

At the link the mapping shows that Louisiana has more shipping traffic than Houston, historically. Since the end of August, there has been almost no shipping traffic to the Louisiana port, according to personal watch on marine traffic. Please explain your point in posting.
