Not a lot going on in the area weather wise!

one way to figure the winds in an area is to get on the swell page. if you know what the ground swell is doing(and in the gulf there probably wouldnt be any most of the time)the sea surface hights give you a prity good real time wind strength and direction indicator. better than some bodies prediction anyway. im trying to find relevant info on the net about sub sea thermal vents in the gulf or caribean. cant find any thing as yet but there is some amazing volcanic structures east of the faulklands . i havent been able to get any sci info yet.will keep digging.

I came back from lunch and the ships are BACK as if nothing happened!!!!Very very strange. I did NOT change the page at all!Did anyone see what happened or was it as you said like a light switch?

Maybe Tampa/St Pete didn't have a boat cleaning station out in the Gulf like they did at Panama City. Just brought those morphing-metal eating bugs right on into port.

i think the zoom function on marine traffic has something to do with appearing/disappearing ships
