I know that possibility has been brought up on this thread before. Which also brings the question in view of whether the earth actually shifts in its orbit, which is a hard thing to do because of the huge mass involved, or more possibly that the surface land masses would just shift around. This latter possibility would make more sense. Thin plates sliding on the oily core. Only now someone has gone and let the oil film all leak out. This could unintentionally be the salvation of mankind, or total doom.

Since half july I'm writing down the time that the sun leaves a shadow at a certain points in my house.
I do that in the morning and late afternoon.
Results: since half july the sun is 60 min earlier in the morning and 60 min later in the afternoon.

today its a clear day, I hope I can make my observations.

in my words: earth spinns in the morning faster and slows down in the afternoon. Its a pity that I cannot exact see sunrisetime and sunsettime.

anybody a idea? ps: 8 weeks ago I started a thread with a wrong title: sun is late today)
