Something Just Went BEZERK in the Gulf of Mexico. The US Navy just sunk a French Submarine

I was around Pomona (Claremont Collegge for a while taking some classes.Masters in Engineering and I needed classes in Technical Writing in English to keep my job.
One night a Canadian guy and I headed out out for Big Bear. Got stopped in some place like Upland. I pulled out my German Drivers license and passport, the Canuck pulls out his passport. Canadian passports are in French and English, he opens it to French side. Cop shows it to the other cop who just looks at it and says "FUCK!" they took our open beer away from us and waved us on. "Get outta Here"

OMG Hans, you were in the best place for that to happen. lol I lived in Crestline on Big Bear Mountain. It was so laid back and easy going. I loved it there. Yes, this is a great country.

What got me to USA was my employer, Daimler-Benz bought out some American Automotive firm that was big into racing. My job was Quality Supervisor...at Chrysler. I don't even want to think about it. At least when I was in Russia they had an excuse, each worker drank several quarts of vodka every day, and I was too busy freezing my ass off to worry about anything else. Chrysler? Quality? I don't even want to think about it. I moved North to Boeing.

Wonder if the Ranger's tower still stands at the twin peaks? Big Bear at the top (you know that's where they filmed Mash, right). So much fun there, 15 to 20 minutes to the valley or over to Apple Valley. lol Greats days. I found a crystal as big as a bowling ball in the desert, gave it to my best friend when I came back to Ohio. lol And, spotted a silver fox on the freeway too. Oh well, I was only there for six months. Ok, so we partied New Years Eve on the Patio with all the neighbors. Very friendly place. Best times ever.

One thing, though. I made a goof up when I sent the definition to Urban Dictionary. I misspelled some words. Isis7 noticed it and brought it to my attention.

I sent them a email, and thier mailbot said I should hear from them by Wednesday. OH, well.

This Stuxnet worm is unprecedented. It targeted Siemens control systems and 15 PLC infections were found in Germany (they all eat their own dog-food there, Siemens control in just about every factory). But a Siemens spokesman said they hadn't dealt with Iran for 30 years, so we can deduce from this that either it wasn't the target or they've got copied or imitation systems that closely emulate Siemens systems.

The consensus is that it took a nation-state to sponsor this and, for the security bods here, note that it targeted 4 zero-day vulnerabilities in Windows. If you're a black-hat, you jealously guard any zero-days and only unleash them with a "killer" purpose, like a 10-million PC botnet or something. Using 4 in one package is, well, mind-blowing.

Just FYI.

I have dealt with Siemens. In my opinion they are one of the more ethical corporations on the planet.

Good luck with emailing the Bee Pee guy, he hasn't opened my email from the 15th yet. If you happened to get through to him, ask him to stay with his thread longer than 20 minutes. Folks have inquiring minds you know.

I'll check and see if I can find anything that looks like sewer holes. There are strange things down there for sure.
