What got me to USA was my employer, Daimler-Benz bought out some American Automotive firm that was big into racing. My job was Quality Supervisor...at Chrysler. I don't even want to think about it. At least when I was in Russia they had an excuse, each worker drank several quarts of vodka every day, and I was too busy freezing my ass off to worry about anything else. Chrysler? Quality? I don't even want to think about it. I moved North to Boeing.
Hi Hans, Boeing has a big gig going in South Carolina now, down around Charleston. Hope to see our down here where the sun shines most of the time and the alligators are 13' long.

Quoting: Hans The MagnificentSorry, no and most of the Boeing work is contracted. GE Turbines in Greenville is a major contractor subbing work. A small local startup has bought CNCs from some of the plant closings and they do small-scale tool and die, but no design. I asked about that and they said they work from the customer's drawings.
