Unrelated perhaps... I was listening to some Persian music last night and almost fell into a trance... I find it hard to believe that a nation with so much wisdom in their ancient blood would go so far into the realm of fanatism without some kind of larger vision.

My 2cents on Iran.

Irans conflicts are both religious-political and secular-political.

The Iranian lineage is from Ismael.

Ishmael - son of Abraham and Hagar the Egyptian. He was the child "born after the flesh" and not the child "by promise" and was sent from home on the birth of Isaac. His descendants, the Ishmaelites, were a wandering race, living by plunder, having commercial relations and intermarrying with the heath nations of Canaan.

I beleive it is possibly as simple as black and white - good vs. evil- Cain/Abel the knowledge of "opposition in all things = balance. Their fate and lineage.

I agree, the music is entrancing.
