 Quoting: Rhodes

Yes, Rhodes, it is about the GOM but also much more. From our investigation about what happened initially in the GOM, we discovered that much is going on elsewhere in the world and also in space that is very much connected to the GOM. So as we see articles that may have a connection to this thread, we post them.

Hope that helps.

Mapping the San Andreas Fault (Underwater and in 3-D)

This past Sunday (Oct. 2) marked the conclusion of a mission that for the first time studied, imaged and mapped the unexplored offshore Northern San Andreas Fault from just north of San Francisco to its end at the junction of three tectonic plates off Mendocino, Calif.

Scientists on the mission, funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, have been using various techniques to create the first-ever 3-D structural map that will model the undersea Northern San Andreas Fault and its structure.

By using different types of sonar, they have been able to determine both the depth of the seafloor and obtain information about what type of sediments or hard bottoms are below.

Little is known about the offshore fault due to perennial bad weather that has limited scientific investigations.

Early in the expedition, scientists collected bathymetric (deep underwater) and subsurface data to help them locate specific areas of interest for more detailed operations.

Unlike faults on land, those formed along mid-ocean ridges are very common. While land faults are easily eroded and often cut older faults in complex, hard-to-untangle ways, submarine faults break into newly formed crust without much alteration from erosion.

Scientists expect the subsea portion of the fault to include deep rifts and high walls, along with areas supporting animal life.

"By relating this 3-D model with ongoing studies of the ancient record of seismic activity in this volatile area, scientists may better understand past earthquakes - in part because fault exposure on land is poor, and the sedimentary record of the northern California offshore fault indicates a rich history of past earthquakes," said mission team member Chris Goldfinger, a marine geologist and geophysicist at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore.

European satellite 'blinded' by radio interference

PARIS (AFP) – The European Space Agency (ESA) said on Wednesday that it had launched a behind-the-scenes campaign to shut down illicit radio and TV transmissions interfering with a major climate satellite.

The 315-million-euro (434-million-dollar) Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) probe "has been bugged by patches of interference from radar, TV and radio transmissions in what should be a protected band," ESA complained.

"Painstaking efforts to reduce these unwanted signals are now paying off," the Paris-based agency said.

SMOS orbits 760 kilometres (470 miles) above Earth, a low-altitude slot enabling it to gauge the impact of climate change on the movement of water across land, air and sea.

Soon after launch last November 2, scientists realised that interference was "effectively blinding" the probe as it passed over parts of southern Europe, Asia, the Middle East and some coastal zones, ESA said in a press release.

The intrusion has two causes.

One is a leakover into a band of the electromagnetic spectrum (1400-1427 MHz in the L-band) which is assigned to space astronomy and Earth exploration satellites by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

or
artificial sweetner (sweet n low - candarel - nutrasweet etc) in powder form
readily available across the planet on supermarket shelves

i use it for the ants, they carry it to their nest and i never see them again

works a treat as a pesticide, good on humans too if the intent is to destroy nervous system, bone marrow, synapses, brain functions, arteriosclerosis, i could go and on

just another poison designed to hinder the awakening

Coldest Winter In 1,000 Years On Its Way

After the record heat wave this summer, Russia's weather seems to have acquired a taste for the extreme.

Forecasters say this winter could be the coldest Europe has seen in the last 1,000 years.

The change is reportedly connected with the speed of the Gulf Stream, which has shrunk in half in just the last couple of years. Polish scientists say that it means the stream will not be able to compensate for the cold from the Arctic winds. According to them, when the stream is completely stopped, a new Ice Age will begin in Europe.

.....and that's the half of it.............

Of the many different aspects of 2012, one is transcendent. It is convergence. In this case, we now find a startling convergence that connects a current political change of course with a remote viewing warning from 2004 and the ancient Hopi Blue Star prophecy.

"This Purifier will show us many miraculous signs in our heavens In this way we will know Creator is not a dream. Even those who do not feel their connection to spirit will see the face of creator across the sky. Things unseen will be felt very strongly."

" Many things will begin to occur that will not make sense, for reality will be shifting back in and out of the dream state. There will be many doorways to the lower world that will open at this time. Things long forgotten will come back to remind us of our past creations. Wow Tex! Thanks for this! I'm right in Ft. Bragg. A few years ago, a couple of faults were discovered running perpendicular to the shoreline just north of town. One of them is Pudding Creek, about half a block from my current residence. I used to live right on the other side of the creek. I had no idea that the San Andreas was so close to shore. Thought it was further out.
I've ridden out earthquakes in SoCal before, so this doesn't bother me too awfully much....kinda like coming out of the chute on the back of a Brahma bull...BTDT.

UFO Promotion Goes Mainstream – Quick Hide!

Former Air Force Officers Claim UFOs Visited Bases, Tampered With Nukes ... UFOs They're out there, say a handful of former Air Force officers. The truth is out there, and a group of retired Air Force officers gathered the media and a handful of well-wishers at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., in an attempt to reveal what they say is a government cover-up of decades of alien contact. The officers claimed, through their own individual accounts, that during the Cold War UFOs visited various USAF installations, but that's just the precursor to a more remarkable assertion: the aliens were tampering with our nukes. Gathered by well-known UFO researcher Robert Hastings, the officers all individually gave similar accounts – that sometime between 1963 and 1980 each was present at nuclear missile sites when unexplained flashing lights appeared in the sky at the same time the missiles went form alert status to non-responsive. In one account, retired targeting officer Robert Jamison said all 10 missiles in his charge – known as a "flight" – went off alert status just as rumors of unidentified lights in the sky overhead swept through the base. Jamison didn't see the UFO himself, but several others on the base witnessed the incident. The cause of his missiles going offline is unknown. – Popular Science

Dominant Social Theme: They're out there and soon they'll be in here.

Free-Market Analysis: We've dealt with the UFO phenomenon as an elite fear-based promotion, but it turns out we're not the only ones who are somewhat dubious about what's going on. There doesn't seem any doubt to us that the pace has picked up. Reuters recently carried a press release about the UFO dog-and-pony show (see article excerpt above) now underway. Sub dominant social theme: "Maybe you didn't believe your hysterical next door neighbor but you'll certainly believe the US Air Force."

It seems to be serious business at first glance doesn't it? A group of Air Force officers are finally blowing the whistle on the UFO cover up. They DO exist, these flying saucers, and the folks flying them have been fiddling around with nuclear weapons. It seems fairly definitive after all. Everyone knows that military people don't lie and these officers seem to have no agenda other than to tell the truth.

UFOs in Worldwide Revelation on Oct 13

Retired NORAD Officer's New Book Predicts a Tentative Worldwide UFO Display on October 13, 2010 ... A newly-published book by a retired NORAD officer predicts October 13, 2010 as the tentative date for a fleet of extraterrestrial vehicles to hover for hours over the earth's principal cities. Author says the event to be the first in a series intended to avert a planetary catastrophe resulting from increasing levels of carbon-dioxide in the earth's atmosphere dangerously approaching a "critical mass." – Yahoo

Dominant Social Theme: Aliens are concerned about global warming, too.

Free-Market Analysis: We were going to write an article about Afghanistan, which is not going especially well for the West, when our collective concentration was entirely ruined by a feedbacker who forwarded to us the article excerpted above. It's been around almost a month now, but we hadn't noticed it before. It certainly fits right into the "aliens among us" meme that we have been covering in some detail as of late.

We have received some pushback on the coverage of this dominant social theme, but those with whom we are privileged to converse (our insightful feedbackers, mostly) have been remarkably tolerant about our continued coverage, finding it in some cases nearly as noteworthy as we do. We are reporting on it not out of a lust for sensationalism or for the sake of amusement but because we find this particular promotion (that is what it is) to be highly disturbing.

There may be aliens "out there" and they may visit earth at some point, but the idea that they will visit RIGHT NOW, at this particular juncture and (in this case) to help humankind deal with the catastrophe of a "critical mass" of atmospheric carbon-dioxide is from our viewpoint cynical in the extreme.

This combining of the global warming meme with alien visitations is especially noteworthy. In fact, it doesn't seem so very effective now, but that is only because the global warming promotion has subsided. What seems to have happened, in our view, (as regards global warming anyway) was that this book was well into its formative stage when the "warmist" controversy blew up. Thus, what seems somewhat ludicrous today (to anyone who doesn't believe in manmade global warming) was actually supposed to be quite convincing, assuming that the elite had been able to pull off the anthropogenic warming scam.

What is also unsettling about this article is that while it was initially a press release, it was picked up at Yahoo.com and recast, partially, as an article. (This may be standard practice, but, if so, we are unfamiliar with it.) The item is also the product of an Air Force officer, and other Air Force officers are barnstorming the US (as we pointed out yesterday) with revelations of bright lights manipulating nuclear missiles some 30 years ago. Here's some more from the release:

A newly-published 352-page book by a retired Air Force officer, Stanley A. Fulham, tentatively predicts October 13, 2010 as the date for a massive UFO display over the world's principal cities. According to the author, the aliens will neither land nor communicate on that date; they are aware from eons of experience with other planets in similar conditions their sudden intervention would cause fear and panic.

This might has relevance to the Gulf bacteria ...

How bacteria become resistant to antibiotics
[link to www.thaindian.com]

snips:
Washington, Oct 6 (ANI): A recent study by two Florida State University biochemists has found that bacteria have an innate ability to produce a large variety of proteins, which make them remarkably resilient to toxic substances, such as antibiotics.

Their research also has implications in elucidating the function of specific proteins and understanding how bacteria in the environment can survive in the presence of toxic manmade chemicals such as pesticides.
Understanding the mechanisms by which bacteria evade environmental threats has direct relevance for understanding and combating the rise of antibiotic resistance, added Desai and Miller.

>>And maybe also corexit ... and other pesticides used in the GOM.
Or is this an answer why some bacteria did not eat the oil ?

Or are bacteria becomming more resistant coz of the higher frequency of the earth ?

Ocean bacteria levels increase with rain runoff
Oct 1, 2010
[link to www.lajollalight.com]

snip:
Swimmers, surfers and other beach users were warned Friday that the levels of bacteria in ocean and bay waters can rise significantly following storms like the ones that pounded San Diego County this week.

Activities such as swimming, surfing and diving should be avoided in all coastal waters for the next 72 hours, according to the department.

The department also issued a water contact closure for the ocean shoreline at the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge and Border Field Park due to sewage-contaminated flows from the Tijuana River entering the United States. Signs will remain in place in those areas until sample results indicate the ocean water is safe for recreational use.

Corexit still being sprayed while schoolchildren are being taught there is nothing to fear and all the time the Gulf residents are getting sicker!

The above is a problem.
Solution is two step.First, find out who is in charge of doing this, then hang them by the feet.
Second, tell the school kids "Lookie kiddies, a piñata!"
Problem solved.
Simple solutions are best. See article on N. Korea (above)

OOOh Hans you are soooo bad hahahahaha !
chuckle

I'd like to nominate Hans to the Supreme Court, if nothing else, just to watch him rip the Senate to shreds during the confirmation hearings.

I volunteer to be his assistant!!

Or are bacteria becomming more resistant coz of the higher frequency of the earth ?

...

I remember reading an article in either Science or Nature mag a couple of decades ago (at least) that the practice of factory farming using antibiotics as a prophylactic in livestock feed was the main cause of antibiotic resistant bacteria. They knew about this that long ago, and let the practice persist, knowing that it would only make more money for Big Pharma through the development of ever stronger antibiotics. Another crime against humanity committed by global corporate. Bacteria smarter than corporate? You betcha!

Are these the rays OP is talking about that link with splashzones ?
Maybe not ...
But these are very interresting video's (imo) .

* The Heliosphere and Galactic Cosmic Rays

VID : [link to www.redorbit.com]

The heliosphere deflects galactic cosmic rays from entering the system. Galactic cosmic rays are a very high energy form of particle radiation that are extremely difficult to shield against and are harmful to astronauts. credit: NASA

>> Very strange video, with green worm-lights ...

* To see what the heliosphere is and how it works,
watch video "The Heliosphere" of 1 oct, 2010

* Heliosphere Changes Affect Cosmic Ray Penetration

The changes in the size of our solar system’s boundaries also cause changes to the galactic cosmic rays that enter the solar system. credit: NASA

* Wanna know what we are alligning with the comming months and years ?

Center of Our Galaxy Revealed by Hubble

Hubble Space Telescope's Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) joins forces with the Spitzer Space Telescope to peer deeper into the Milky Way's center. Hubble detected a new population of massive stars about 26,000 light-years away. Astronomers can use this data to study how these stars form and influence their environment. credit: NASA
