During my forced ban, I had plenty of time to lurk around other GLP threads (ok I got to all the dishes in the sink too;).
In those threads, I noted something of a larger consequence of this thread (as this was the first place I saw it happen*).
As a natural outcome of the BEZERK thinking minds moving forward on this thread, despite the naysayers ad infinitum, we created a family of friends.
Following our lead, other threads, despite whether the OP's truth, doom, date or event happened, posters wanted to keep their threads going, as they'd found, as we have, a group of people that enjoying perusing thoughts, ideas and hypotheses together.
*As someone noted, we are ranked #3 on GLP!
