It looks like there will be virtually no fall color show in the Eastern mountains this year.

Dogwoods and Sourwood are usually the first to turn and they give a blazing, bright red in the fall. Not this year. They are starting to change color and are showing a dark burgundy, almost brown. Not bright at all. Crepe Myrtles are also turning a burgundy brown and are not giving off a bright fall color.

Poplar leaves are falling before they turn yellow. The two big live oaks in my yard have spots on the leaves this year.

May be due to the three-digit temps we had for so long this summer and it just burned the juice out of the leave.
