When I lived here and worked for Daimler-Benz, I would cruise most of the length of Germany from Stuttgart to Netherlands border at just under 250 km (150 mph) Then I got to Holland where they have speed limits. And Radar. If you ever go to Holland, notice the smooth roads and the park like surroundings, well trimmed grass, greenery all over. Hans helped pay for all that with fines.
Then I got to supplier. Old guy in charge of lab liked to remind me that Germans came into Eindhoven in WWII and stole everybody's bikes. And after the peace they never gave them back.
