Just a random thought about the salt to Antarctica... Could some of it be used to clear ice off pathways, and to make it easier to move vehicles? When the temperature falls below about -10 C, it's no longer effective, and if it reaches -18 C, even ocean water freezes regardless of the salt in it. That being said, however, the level of concentration does matter, and higher concentrations mixed in with the soil might be more effective. But, how do you mix it into the soil when the soil is frozen solid? **Edited to add info
