Excellent link for info on the microorganism!

Thus, the Synthia are not cyanobacyeria ... "The cyanobacteria category is so different from other kinds of life on earth that scientists classify them in their own phylum in the Monera kingdom (bacteria)."

We discover,

Now we have a question: "What is the difference between cyanobacteria and proteobacteria?" and we discover:

"Cyanobacteria has got chlorophil,so it can produce its own food i.e.autotroph.It has no flagella so it can not move. Stored form of food in cyanobactertia is glycogen. There is a capsular covering outside the cell wall of cyanobacteria.

On the otherhand, proteobacteria has no chlorophil,so it can not produce its own food i.e.heterotroph.It has got flagella so it can move. Stored form of food in proteobacteria is starch. There is no capsular covering outside the cell wall of proteobacteria."

A few more comments from links posted earlier to the thread":

"But, Venter still needs a living cell as a host for his synthetic life, or as he has named it, Synthia.

JC Venter needs a massive amount of algae to produce his goal...Hmm, where can we find a massive amount of algae...

Hmm, Thad Allan couldn't find any oil?? The green stuff, is algae folks. Once there is enough algae, they are going to release Synthia, and then you will see the beast rise out of the sea, literally."

We're back to algae spores infected with Synthia. This stuff is going to be EVERYWHERE, not just one green-eyed monster in the Gulf like it is the Loch Ness monster.
