BREAKING: Nigeria Files Charges Against Cheney in Halliburton Bribery Scheme
Tuesday 07 December 2010
by: Jason Leopold, t r u t h o u t | Investigative Report

Dick Cheney is officially a wanted man.

The former vice president was charged by Nigerian officials Tuesday along with eight other individuals in a bribery and conspiracy scheme over the construction of a liquefied natural gas facility in the country that took place while Cheney was chief executive of Halliburton.

WooooHooooo! A round of drinks on the house! Darth is busted!
FWIW, it's really this man's fault that the GoM is now trashed beyond recognition. He is the one who facilitated the deregulation of the oil bidniz, encouraging lawmakers to let the industry lobbyists write crucial legislation, through the widening liberties on K Street. As we can see, by the example of ButtPlug's GoM behavior, this corruption is now well entrenched. There are revolving doors within revolving doors, wheels within wheels of corruption resulting in profound environmental toxic degradation where ever this industry operates. None of them are tidy outfits, and Darth gave them license to behave in an irresponsible manner. Darth is the grand daddy of this monumental mess.

Wonder how much of his profits was re-routed to the SEC for their ahhh opinion?

Great find Tutu, we will see what comes of it.

Hi Isis! I think you meant to say the Minerals Management guys, amirite?
I don't expect there to be successful extradition, but is mighty fine to see the evidence on the table in a court of law somewhere on the planet.

Well, Mineral Management guys, what's in it for them? Follow the money...

Aggressive Accounting Practices
is very enlightening...

why?

Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

Bottom line...
You can hold the wealth of the world, but if you can't trade it, what good does it do you?

Just my opinion.
 Quoting: Isis7

I gather you are making reference to his personal wealth? He worked for most of that, receiving huge bonuses and stock options from Halliburton, because he, himself was on that revolving door circuit between government and the private sector.
I'm making reference to the huge amount of money flowing from the oil bidniz to the lawmakers in Congress (campaign contributions) and to the regulatory agency (Mineral Management) assigned oversight of the oil production. Mineral Management and oil industry lobbyists got busted having drug and sex parties - remember that? Cheney also insured that there was not enough funding to pay for enough oil rig inspectors, assuring everyone that the industry could police it's own safety practices. We see how that worked out.
I sense that we are talking about two different things. And, if you think that the SEC is any less corrupt, I would encourage you to take a look at the corruption on Wall Street, and where that has led.
