And is there any control for this stuff? I can easily think of a scenario where it gets out of control and eats everything in its path. Good plot for a Sy-Fy movie.
If you think about it, oil eating bacteria could get out of hand, and start going after ALL petroleum products. Like Plastics. My Volkswagen, Al Gore's Prius, you get the picture.
