In the Oct/Nov 1994 issue of Nexus there was a piece by Cathie from his book 'The Harmonic Conquest of Space."
Cathie had come to believe there was a grid around the earth which was Einstein's unified field theory and he began searching for the polar areas of the grid, based upon mathematical values.

This quote may explain why the Russians were having to reset the calibrators on the subs in order to break up the electromagnetic transmission and reception of the AU organism.

Can G oogle 'find' Augie with the oogling DNA survey, and then the subs re-calibrate to that latitude and scurry over to knock out Augie.
But, synthetic DNA emits no readable transmissions and there is no way to find Synthia and its mutations, not until its hosts turn sick and/or fall over dead.
