If you are American you must be outraged that OIL COMPANIES are afforded a tax break which always results in a cost to the taxpayer. And yet they get away with (what amounts to murdr) bad faith practices.
You, after all, as a taxpayer and resident, are paying the money that goes to them in the form of an incentive to do what they are doing. Just to drill at all, we are giving them a tax break.
We individuals pay more (%) than they do. They get a BREAK.

Yet the prices of this gas, (our own natural resource) keep raising at the pumps.
Oil Companies are making record, windfall profits.
Our earth is partially destroyed and we see dead and dying animals, fish, plant & wild life, eco system & shoreline everyday.

This is our shoreline, our ocean, our oil.
You would not let someone steal from your basement.

Why do we let them take it, pollute our world and sell it back to us at exorbitant prices????

It doesn't make sense.

I have no great love for Sarah Palin.
But the woman was smart enough to know the oil in Alaska belonged to THE ALASKANS and she fought for their propriety rights to own it.
