Oil is money, so its a waiting game. If the process of creating a reservoir has been started, in that a near by salt dome has been destroyed by filling it with sea water, and then replacing the saline solution with the oil from the near by well, and then seeded with one of the naturally occuring strains or the synthetic strains of bacteria - it will just be a waiting game until enough pressure has been created, or the crude is pre-refined enough for the customer. The length of duration of this task is something that I am sure is a 'poster boy' for big oil and small oil a like. When seeking investment for a 'new field' the up front investment, plus the turn around time to create a viable reserve would be hot on the agenda. Hence why the likes of Venter, and his various companies, majorly supported and in some cases owned by BP peddel the artificial strains. They are just so much more efficient, and hence bring a return so much faster. |

No coverage of the undersea areas, a part from some lame loops, same chemical coctail, more people sick. ...and the oil. If it has been metabolised, and there was a huge amount of it to be rid of, then the end result is either a huge release of methane/CO2 (belch) or frozen blocks/bergs of it down there, mixing with the environment. Or perhaps it has been used to create something else. At one point there were heaps of peeps monitoring marine traffic, seeing what ship was where, and we managed to extrapolate what might be going down as a result. Litterally going down in some cases. The A-Whale has sister ships B and C whale now in operation. But they are surface skimmer ships, not deep water recovery vessels. Subs and deep water vessels are required for that, including deep water containment and semi-refining/cleaning equipment. (because the cats out of the bag now, it cant be done under ground naturally in a reserve). I wonder if any vessels fitting that criteria are in the Gulf? I wonder if any countries are building deep sea subs atm?  WE all know how much oil is down there waiting for someone to retrieve it, and process it, and make money from it. Just depends who has craft ready to solve the problems. |
