It mentions the DWH oil-spill,
and for some reason I dont believe that the technique they are talking about is only applied recently [article is from 2012],
but I rather have the distinct feeling that they implemented the nano-particles into the oil-wells and then wait a while to let it along with the venter-bacteria do its job until the oil is ready to collect more easily.

It could well be a possibility that the add of magnetic nano-particles resulted in the build up of pressure inside the well ... and it all blew out of proportion ... while the newly adapted ships were waiting to collect this magnetic oil with their magnets on board !
Remember the vessel doing the Z-shaped manoeuvres ??? ...

EDIT, to explain, my daughter bought some bantam chicks, who ended up being a male and female. This led to that, and we now have nine chickens. Rusty, the rooster, quite proud of his accomplishments, tells the world every morning at 5am....

Medical application of "graphene foam" in neural stem cell research

Any way, I think it had more to do with frequency, than sheer mechanics.

Back to Graphine, I started a wee thread on other uses for Graphine, and a variant called ExeterGraphex, which can be made so thin and transparent, that it could be applied to glass and plastics and clothing, and actually has electrical generation properties!! Bring on Star Trek!!
