The vast majority in Christianity and Judaism does not recognize Elijah as God's called prophet, and it is for this reason:

The vast majority in Christianity and Judaism does not recognize Elijah/Eliyahu as God's called prophet, and it is for this reason: Elijah gives forth hard words of truth and warning as did God's prophets of old as recorded in the Old Testament. So like the prophets of old, he is hated for his hard messages which God gives him to write. .
