The only way to control the flow of oil is to have a functioning BOP in place before drilling.
The pressure of this oil spill AS SEEN ON TV would be same upon striking it initially.
You would need a functioning BOP to be SECURELY fastened BEFORE drilling -- This could only be possible if the BOP is fasten on the RIG platform, either-wise please explain how they SECURED the BOP on the seabed before drilling?

My business partner retired fromt the oil industry after 45 yrs with the last 20 yrs as executive over exploration in aver 20 countries, drilling hundreds of wells in the last 20 yrs.
I posed your theory to him just prior to writing this response.
his response was simple.
The bop was installed at the floor on a template which is bolted onto the sea floor with robotics. It is the only way they install the primary bop...and always, of course, BEFORE DRILLING.
He gave me all of the fine details of how the casing goes through the bop and how the riser extends from the template...etc etc. etc...but I had no desire to take it all down.
He then said that many times secondary and terciery bop's are installed above the primary floor bop.
he said the extreme burst of pressure destroyed the mechanical function of the bop which now prevents it from being turned off.
he said that drilling multiple wells around it will relieve the pressure which will then allow the repair of the bop.
