Funny to witness flat-liner responses to exceptionally gifted ancient races. Only an idiot would try to discredit the Hopi. They have never been wrong on any information they have provided to date. Hopi elders are still contacted by government and corporate business to provide their insight to future events,...and again have not been wrong yet.

As for the Maya, they made one small error in their history so far,... thinking that the Spaniards were the "white bearded GODS" they had been waiting for to return. One mistake that cost them everything and us most of their recorded history and predictions. One of the greatest achievements of ancient races is the Mayan calender. A 26000 year calender that begins before they were created, and ends at 12/21/12 @ 11:11. Only off by a fraction of a minute over 26000 is hard to compete with and AC here can't hold a candle to this being only ONE of the MANY contributions the Maya held. The list is almost endless to support any race being smarter than AC.
* Hopi Predict a 25yr period of purification followed by End of Fourth World and beginning of the Fifth.
* Mayans Call it the 'end days' or the end of time as we know it.
* Maoris Say that as the veils dissolve there will be a merging of the physical & spiritual worlds.
* Zulu Believe that the whole world will be turned upside down.
* Hindus Kali Yuga (end time of man). The Coming of Kalki & critical mass of Enlightened Ones.
* Incas Call it the 'Age of Meeting Ourselves Again'.
* Aztec Call this the Time of the Sixth Sun. A time of transformation. Creation of new race.
* Dogon Say that the spaceship of the visitors, the Nommo, will return in the form of a blue star
* Pueblo Acknowledge it'll be the emergence into the Fifth World
* Cherokee Their ancient calendar ends exactly at 2012 as does the Mayan calendar.
* Tibetan Kalachakra teachings are prophesies left by Buddha predicting Coming of the Golden Age.
* Egypt According to the Great Pyramid (stone calendar), present time cycle ends in year 2012 AD

But you can accept AC's POV and join the "WRONG CROWD".

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1013760

Half Tlahuica (from the area south and southwest of Mexico City) and the other half a mixture of different BC native. The ex wife is Mayan, my kids are half Mayan, and they all speak more than one Mayan dialect. My father in law was a well respected healer and time keeper.

I can't remember what threads I posted on, the one where I put up the most info was months ago. In a nutshell I will try to clarify.

On numerous occasions, I have challenged die-hard 2012ers to tell me the name of the date of the end of the Mayan calendar. None have ever been able to do that, yet they flame me as a shill.

Well, I can tell you the name of the date, and if you want to work it out for yourself, I will tell you how you can do that and either prove me wrong or accept that I am right. The name of the date is important for setting correlations, as you will see.

The initial date of the 13 Baktun cycle was 4 Ahau 8 Cumkhu. The first part, 4 Ahau refers to the Tzolkin date, which is a repeating cycle of 13 x 20 days, or 260 days. Every 260 days the day name will repeat. The Tzolkin was used to mark civic holidays and celebrations, but was useless on its own for predicting seasons and other astronomical phenomenon.

The second part of the date is 8 Cumkhu. This is the date on the solar calendar, called Ha'ab. The important thing about a solar calendar is that it should allow you to predict seasons easily. Our solar based calendar allows us to know that in June it will be summer and in December it will be winter -always.
The Ha'ab was comprised of 18 series of 20 days plus 5.25 additional days at years end. Each series of 20 has a name, in this case Cumkhu, and is accompanied by a number between 0 and 19 to indicate the position of the day in question within that series. In this case, 8 Cumkhu points to the 9th day of the series Cumkhu, which is the last of the 18 twenty day series.

The start of the solar calendar year is July 24th in the Yucatan Peninsula region, it coincides with the second solar transit of the local zenith and also coincides with the start of the rainy season. The date 8 cumkhu would therefore be equivalent to our date July 7th. Always.

On many monuments and in the Dresden Codex, the final date is recorded as being 4 Ahau 3 Kankin. Kankin corresponds to the twenty days between April 9 and April 28. The end date is the 4th (remember, we count the first day of the series as 0 Kankin) of Kankin, which falls on April 12th. Always.

So any correlation with any date other than April 12 is not correct.

As for the year of the end date, it is pretty simple to work out. When Cortes arrived to the Yucatan, it was believed that he was the returning god Quetzalcoatl (known as Kukulkan in the Yucatan. Kukulkan is NOT a Mayan god, he was imported and imposed upon the Yucatecan natives during the invasion of Toltecs during the last historic period of the Mayas prior to the conquest by europeans). The legend was clear that Quetzalcoatl would return in a year called 1 Acatl (on the calendar and in the language of the Nahuatl nations that lived in Central Mexico) and this corresponds to 1 Ben in the Yucatan peninsula, which was exactly the year in course when Cortes arrived. Had he arrived in any other year, the outcome may have been very different.

When you combine the Tzolkin date with the Solar calendar date, every single day during a 52 year period will have its own unique name. No combination, such as 4 Ahau 3 Kankin can occur more than once in a 52 year period. Therefore, it is possible to deduce the name of the year in course from the Tzolkin and Ha'ab date. In this case, 4 Ahau 3 Kankin, the end date of the 13 Baktun Cycle occurs only in years named 2 Etznab, and the last time the year was named 2 Etznab was between July 24th 1987 and July 23 1988.

Therefore, the only possible correlation for the end date to occur on April 12 of 1988, or any April 12th at 52 year intervals. The timekeepers celebrated the end cycle in 1988.

It should be noted that the day we count as leap year adjustment was not counted as a day. The last day of every year was extended by 1/4 day before the start of the new year.

So quick to answer without going to the trouble to do the work and prove me wrong. I guess it's easier to read something some whitey on the internet tells you than to listen to someone who might know something and who is actually giving you the elements you need to test the information and make your own mind up.

As to the Mayan prophecy in dec 2009 stating that there will be an uptick of earth changes this year, so far that was correct with all the major EQ's that started in January of this year (remember, Haiti, chili, Baja Mexico, Solomon Islands, the Iceland volcanoes, etc etc). So we will see if they are correct, again. Also, a prophet by the name of Littlest of Servants is predicting major events to start in July and be happening back to back. Time will tell what happens.

As we approach 2012 the changes are happening....some will be painful...if you choose to be scared then so be it. But those of us without financial interests know...we KNOW!
