If time stood still and then resumed, how can we tell ??

This stupid question bothers me for a while.

If someone or a higher entity frozed time, energy, matter and all physical laws and reactions in the universe for who knows how long, and then unfreeze them, everything will appear normal and continuous to us.

So who is going to know ? what evidence is there, unless he played a prank like tying your shoelaces together while you stood there frozen ??
