I live in illinois..in a city near chicago called "rockford". Our city has a population of near 200,000 counting the connected cities of Loves Park, Machesney Park,etc Our city just laid off 160 firefighters..for our population ..that figure of laid off firefighters is quite staggering for the size of our city.

Also our city has an unemployment rate of 22% ..and the sunday paper usually has zero jobs. Rockford use to be the biggest manufacturer city in Illinois..even larger then Chicago..and our city is going down in shambles and people dont even know it yet.

What will be shocking soon is that while we see Detroit take a dive recently..the mid to small cities of American all through the United States are failing at a rate that will shock people. Heck..i was just in a town a bit outside of the city i live in and i seen Burger King, McDonalds, Arby's and a few other fast food joints boarded up and shut down. When's the last time you seen a Mcdondalds closed up? You havent.... yet
