Is this some kind of bureaucratic stunt where he gets retirement and active duty pay because he's been with the Coast Guard for 40 years? Sort of like when teachers retire and then get re-hired immediately, and end up making double their salary? If it is, so help me...

Good god! What is with all these powerful figures resigning, retiring, and being fired? There is something seriously fishy about this. Especially Thad Allen's stepdown.

Thank God he was a disgrace to our country anyways.

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy"- James Madison

"Joining the military does not mean that you will be defending the country. The purpose of the U.S. military should be to defend the United States. Period. Yet, one of the greatest myths ever invented is that the current U.S. military somehow defends our freedoms. First of all, our freedoms are not in danger of being taken away by foreign countries; if they are taken away it will be by our own government. It is not a country making war on us that we need to fear, it is our government making war on the Bill of Rights. And second, how is stationing troops in 150 different regions of the world on hundreds of U.S. military bases defending our freedoms? It is not the purpose of the U.S. military to change regimes, secure the borders of other countries, or spread democracy at gunpoint. The Department of Defense should first and foremost be the Department of Homeland Security."--Laurence Vance--

Report from New Madrid Fault Area: The Surface Rupture of the Roads and Highways Is Out of Control: I live on the new madrid fault. And I can tell you this. The surface rupture of the roads and highways is out of control. Also, everyday of the week the structure of my moms home is "cracking" and shifting. You can hear the walls and the surface crack. Nearby is a dollar general store. In that parking lot there are 3 flagpoles that "vibrate" violently. (not shaking from wind) Each and everyday, the roads "blow" up potholes. U.S. 41 is ruptured severely. Interstate 65 is also badly damaged. They keep trying to repave them but it doesn't work. The cline ave bridge at points is closing.

This is just about money.

He's retiring, getting retirement pay, and going to work for a civilian organization, no doubt at 800% of his previous salary.

Can't begrudge a guy trying to make a buck, but damn. Bad form, Allen. Bad form.

Of course, given the choice of working for Barack Obama or Tony Hayward, I think I'm going with Hayward. Close call, but Hayward wins because at least he doesn't occupy his office illegally.

Maybe that is what was discussed when he had dinner with Tony Hayward.

BTW, didn't Thad Allen sport a rather hitler-like mustache?

Anyway it always looked like he was "employed" by BP...

.

We'd all be happier if it was Obama that was announcing his retirement.

But Michelle won't give up without a fight.

The only way to separate that fucking cunt from the White House draperies & silverware would be with a crowbar.

God ya'll are fucking dense.

He was set to retire before the spill.

He had a job lined up with BP.

Then, the spill happened.

He was retained in the Coast Guard for both reasons.

He knew the CG, and knew BP.

No fucking conspiracy.

Are you really that fucking stupid ?

well I guess we know where his loyalty is...

BP appears to be running our government
 Quoting: ^TrInItY^

Loyalty ?

He was TOLD to take the position he has, now.

After announcing his retirement.

After accepting the position with BP.

BP doesn't run our Govt.

Trin, you know better.

Yet, oil does play a large part.

Are YOU that dense and stupid?????

JP Morgan Chase (aka the Federal Reserve, aka the goobermint) holds the most shares in BP.

They are all in bed together, aligned and on the same team.
