Where are people ascending to?

(As stated in the second invocation.) It's an unusual manifestation. Think of it as a new kind Kundalini energy. So starting from the very center of your mortal body you ascend and descend at the same time. Rather ironic.  So I assume the energy will feel a tone or so different? Or is it a totally new feeling (when aforementioned channel is manifested)?
