Well, why do you think it is that the memetic device allegedly spawned by this thread is such a potently seductive one? Why is it able to attract the fervor that it does.... Most people have no idea if the mythical 'shadow Illuminati' even exist, let alone if this thread is even remotely legitimate, or even coherent for that matter.

It strikes a chord.... deep within our psyches. A powerfully resonant one. It could almost be said to 'activate' a latent pattern of thought processing. A pattern laid down by our life experiences.... Some of which being partially ineffable and spectacular beyond our wildest imaginations.

I'm having a conversation now with a group of friends discussing the inevitability of societal collapse and the irredeemable state of the political system. Change the world, I say. Don't you want to make a better one? But they say it is impossible. They are placated with small pleasures, and they will not try.

That doesn't sound right. If we could do no better then this world, change would be pointless. And killing shot callers has never been a historically viable method of making a better society.

I guess that's why we haven't reached critical mass. Everyone has a different idea of what's needing changing. We are not united in purpose, just united in apathy and resignation.
