Wrong. That's nationalism not racism. If people say they hate Brits then they are talking about the cultural/political identity of a group of people living on the Island of Britain - that includes people of many different ethnic origins. Racism is a dislike of people from a different race - white, black, yellow etc. It has nothing to do with national borders.

I'd say a better word would be 'culturalist'... I don't like the 'ghetto' culture and have no wish to have it 'integrated' into american culture. America is becoming a cultural melting pot with an identity all it's own. It's all one big experiment in progress, basically being run by those who tell the masses what to think, in the media and hollywood.

Nothing you can do to change that, best to adapt and move forward. Your old values of yesteryear are meaningless. Live and let live, seek not to try to change people to your belief system, seek only to give people the freedom to find their own way.

Yes. Few nations are, or are perceived to be races unto themselves.

I have found that working with some Indians requires much more patience on my part, I see your point there. It can be very frustrating and I can not identify with their attitude.

Never had a chance to really get to know someone of that heritage personally, but I have met some very nice Indians.

Sorry OP, it sounds like we are the ones with the problem. You are going to have to still work with them, and I encourage you to dislike each of them on an individual basis for whatever qualities they may have. I don't think it is fair to apply that to everyone, and you are only hurting yourself if you meet someone new thinking they are going to be like others you have met.

If you can develop a close enough relationship where you can speak freely, perhaps you can gain perspective. You are probably going to have to play their game though, whatever they do that pisses you off, give it right back to them x2. When you have their respect, tell them how you want to be treated.

Don't fret :) I completely understand. When I enter a conversation with other people, all I have to do is start counting to 10 in my mind as I'm speaking and sure as shit...right before I get to 10 you can see their eyes start glazing over with that "huh?" look.
