Copernica User ID: 988128 United States 07/07/2010 01:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's EXACTLY what I saw!! And it wasn't a chinese lantern. It was about the size of a small airplane. Made no sound and travelled horizontally across the sky. I'm still mad at myself for not being able to switch to movie mode fast enough to get it on film. Sitting on a steep roof, with the camera on a tripod - I just couldn't maneuver it all without risking falling over the back side of the roof. :o( My 5 pictures that I managed to snap are really sucky ::sigh:: God Bless President TRUMP! GOD BLESS AMERICA!! |

We saw one up close User ID: 1041425 United States 07/19/2010 02:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't know if others saw lanterns but we saw a fireball very close. It was a fireball the size of a basketball. It traveled over our neighborhood and ascended then disappeared. 10 minutes later is showed up again in the same spot. Very strange. We were close enough to see that it was not a lantern. I reported it to NUFORC. It is listed as the Columbus NE report (July 4th, 2010). A similar report was submitted from a town just 30 miles east. 10 or so other reports were also from Nebraska. Each seeing the same thing and each community is located along the same river. I checked weather reports and our fireball traveled opposite of the wind. Same with the other Nebraska reports I read. you can see the wind direction of any given night in the history section of Underground Weather. I have no explanation. Many of us saw it. Since I submitted my report, Many of the neighbors have said they saw the same thing. No one recognized it as a lantern. |
sailormon User ID: 1041434 United States 07/19/2010 02:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yup, same ones we saw this last Saturday night here in N. MI. Three of them in a row, well behaved coming off Lake mi and finally crossing our lake after crossing torch lake. Going slow, same damn pulsation as well. The first one and then the other two in sequence dimmed out when they got real close to us as we ran down to the lake to see more clearly. It was almost as though they knew we were watching, real cool. |

Quoting: sailormon 1041434Report it to NUFORC if you get the chance and check Underground Weather and see what direction the wind was blowing in comparison to the direction the objects moved. I would so hang my hat on the Lantern theory if the wind was blowing the right direction. Very baffling. |

I live in Omaha, Nebraska and my girlfriend and I also saw an orb in the sky on the night of July 4, 2010. It was very high in the sky, probably the height that airplanes would fly, so it appeared to be in the shape of an orb. It was flying in no particular direction, sometimes it flew north, then a moment later it backtracked and flew south. We watched this for around 5 minutes. It disappeared once then reappeared moments later, only to be covered by a cloud, and then we lost it. That was our first UFO experience. |
