BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, University of Miami CSTARS, July 12, 2010:

A newly released satellite image shows what could be oil slicks & sheen entrained in the Loop Current/Gulfstream and rounding the southern tip of Florida. Oil may also be pictured further up Florida's east coast, as far north as Cape Canaveral & NASA.

Rarely will UM CSTARS post an image on the university's BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill website unless it contains visible oil from BP's Deepwater Horizon disaster.

First is an image from just a few hours ago:

Here is an image of these waters on a previous date:

BP hasn't done squat yet, they've just put a new cap but the valves are still open so the crude is flowing freely.

Don't get me wrong, this is a disaster but...

before you or anybody starts saying those dark spots are oil, they should check out older images before the gusher occurred to make sure dark spots such as those are common place and NOT oil.

There was a similar issue with satellite photos taken in the GOM. People thought dark spots were oil but earlier photos showed dark spots were common.

dunno about the top part of the pic but the bottom sure does look like an oil slick. Was only a matter of time before it entered the Gulf Stream ... !!! We're fucked ... !!!
