Stay away from it, if you could make money at it, you could make a hell of a lot more money selling cars or something else. Besides which it is mostly a scam deal, where sellers make money selling to other sellers and down the line it goes. They use color coding mind control system in the form of Jewels to suck you in. If you must get involved, don't go in expecting to make money, go in and offer to be downline for some of the women sellers in exchange for some favors, much cheaper than hiring prostitutes lol

Re: I want to join Amway.
Please know all runners are not winners. yet no amway people replied for your questions..First of all dont think we earn lots and lots of money from amway, for that we have to work hard. You know for Rs 2000-5000 salary, people are working 8-9 hours for a month. Here it is not like that..for any successful business there should be an organisation so only we introduce people. As they said, recruiting is a wrong word. for selling and earning you may go to hindustan liver limited and join as representative. All have wrongly understood the Amway. thing is very clear, as all accept products are good, so you join and use it..If you go to one cenima, if it is nice, you may share it to your close friends and relatives na, like that just tell how the products are to them, and make them to use it. thats all logic.

Application of formula in correct place is success, but most of them dont know the formula itself, and few dont know how to apply..Please if you want to make clear anything please ask the experts or well known person in that field.

Join and create an oragniation for yourself and u will sucess.. If you have a shop or do any business, and if am your friend, we we say.. hi my friend is owning so and so shop so if you want go and tell my name and get it ..he will give you a good one..this is practical..as like that only.

Showed the Plan several times. Had a little success but got burned out at the end. Simple to say get six people signed up and going diamond level to make it big but incredibly difficult in practice. Products were good but way too expensive, it was really a hard sell just moving product alone. Don't know what it's like now got out just before Internet revolution.

I wonder why there are a bunch of people who never tried it commenting. Whoever wrote this notice that most of the bad reviews come from people who have never done it and are probably to lazy to do so. It is about having a mind of your own look at the process and what they do. My representatives never bothered me and I havent done anything with it yet but I plan to. I have always been overly cautious of scams and realized that sometimes you have to take a chance on things instead of buying cigarettes or designer jeans do your research on something and take a chance

Its wrong concept people understand about amway that they have to buy many products and then sell to their close friends or relatives etc etc.The actuall thing is if there a need for any product in ur family use them for urself and if u can feel that product suggest to ur close ones who are really in need of them.Dont ever stress on amway itself and make them join under you.Firstly feel the product and then start ur business u will surely succeed.Feel free to ask any doubts regarding amway harsi20@yahoo.com 5a

Amway make their real money out of selling books, DVDs, CDs and tickets to shows (motivational speakers, etc) to gullible newbies who think they can make millions selling cleaning products to friends/family. Oh yes and not forgetting the "upfront investment" for the starter pack...

Don't bother. "Network marketing" will just piss off your friends and family.

Re: I want to join Amway.
lol at the people trying to recruit other sellers.

I can't understand how so many people get sucked into this. The problem with it is not so much selling the product, it's the pressure you put on other people to buy, or to become sellers also. It's an opportunistic, parasitic organisation.

Re: I want to join Amway.
I was in a couple of different MLMs starting around 1989 though around 2005. In my opinion, the idea of MLM/Network Marketing stopped being viable once the Internet really took off. In my case with the last company I was in (starting around 1993) my efforts were really starting to take off, then they leveled off and began dying around 1997-98. Right as the web was really becoming a force for information and communication.

I think that MLM/Network Marketing once had its place in business. Trying to get a new customer was the hardest and most expensive part of running any company. MLM admittedly did put those costs on the backs of the people who were in their MLM arm. But often times personal word-of-mouth was the most effective way to get people to sample your products, and for those people who were good at it, MLM was financially rewarding.

People's sphere of information was limited too. So often they never heard of the company, products or services, and were willing to try it.

Along came the Internet. And now people could do their own research without sampling the product. And they could find out all they needed to know without going through the MLM rep.

It was also harder to get new people recruited. Before if someone didn't hear of a company, and none of their friends did as well, then they could be convinced to sign up. Now they go on the web, do a Google search and find 50,000 other independent reps all having the same corporate-sponsored web site. Where's the incentive to join?

Unfortunately, technology now allows scam artists to join the industry. In the past you had to have a serious brick & mortar business with real products and mainframe computers to track everything to get into MLM. Now anyone can easily form an MLM company with the idea of cashing in quick and then folding the company. They just form it, then go looking for any half-assed product to sell. So unfortunately you really have to be more careful with the companies in the industry now than you used. (Admittedly Amway is one of the long time players)

One last thing ... here's a hint as to whether an MLM's products are overpriced. You see, any successful MLM really needs an avenue for people to sell to the retail market, without simply having the reps buy for themselves. "Be your own best customer" is really a red flag for the FTC.

Any company has fixed costs: costs of manufacturing, real estate, taxes, corp payroll. Those costs are fixed and are not dependent upon the retail costs of their products. Those costs are taken off the top, and the remaining money is passed back to the reps as commissions and bonuses.

If the product is fairly priced, then the company costs should be around 1/3 of the money taken in. Therefore, a good company will pay back around 60-70% to the reps.

But watch out for companies that brag about the huge payouts they make. If they exceed the 70% above, that means the product is severely overpriced. And the only customers will be the reps themselves. And that MLM will soon crash.

I'll give you an actual example. Beverly Hills International back in 1994. They sold high-end shampoos and conditioners, and bragged about an 85% payback to their reps. 85%!!!! How and why? Well, think back to what goods were selling for nearly twenty years ago. BHI were selling their shampoos and conditions for $24 per bottle!!!

The company died within a year.

Re: I want to join Amway.
One last thing about Amway ((and the name in the US now Quixtar) .... You'll often see promoted some of the big names in the industry. I don't know who they are now, but they used to be names like Dexter Yeager, Bob Britt, etc.

Keep in mind that many of those people used to derive only 1/3 of their income from the actual Amway business themselves. The rest came from the books and weekly motivational tapes they sold to their downlines.

Re: I want to join Amway.
Yeah good points about the internet. MLM is no longer an efficient supply chain. There are too many people taking a slice of the pie between the manufacturer and the consumer.

Why would you buy this stuff from a rep when you can get it cheaper online?

Re: I want to join Amway.
And that's another thing about the Internet as well. Most companies now no longer need MLMers.

As I mentioned in a previous post, it was expensive for a company in the past to get a new customer. Now they very easily can set up their own web site, use social media and viral videos to get their message out.

They also can capitalize on how lazy people are. In the past they told MLMers that if they get a new customer, then they'll get a percentage of that customer's sales for life. But that was too much work for most people.

Now all they have to do is tell people that if you give us a new customer, we'll give you a one-time coupon for 50 cents off your next purchase. And the public thinks that's a great deal, and don't realize or care how they're being screwed.
